Lost my shit when he kicked that goal, love what he brings…tackles hard but would love for that to translate to also when it’s a 50:50 or when he’s running with the flight. He pulled out of two contests today…has done it before. Does nobody else see it?!

Not a fan of when these incidents get highlighted like its the norm.
As tough as they come , dont think its worth knitpicking over

Particularly as sometimes the bloke is just backing his teammate and positioning for the receive and breakaway, which McCreery has finally started to sometimes do.

All seems like a matter of confidence to me. He wrongly did not kick for goal running into the open goal earlier in the game - flash forward to that ridiculous snag, reckon the coach had a word to him.

Back yourself RamBeau!
He frustrates me, he can be a game changer. I hope they let him loose in the finals because I think he's more valuable as an attacking player than just trying to stop his opponent

Yeah, I think he's yet to realise just how good and he could be - such a brutal athlete with good skills.

lots of upside still
will be great to watch
first, having the confidence to take those runs out the back all the way to slot a goal on the run
then in a few years running through the midfield - I'd love to see him made into a tagger

Running into an open 50 and trying to centre it was a bad moment but to his credit he got pretty busy in the second half and played what was clearly his best game for the club. That goal was bonkers.

Reckon he'd be licking his lips at the prospect of a bruising finals campaign. Can't wait to see how he goes about it

He may have been spent from the 80m sprint he just done, saw lippa somewhat in space, and went team option.

Yeah agree, was team option first for sure. Wouldnt have begrudged him for having a ping but not if he was spent as you said.

His burst of pace is bloody great to watch also

Beau is a weapon that is waiting to be exploded. We will need him, along with Bruzzy, JDG and Tay at their physical best if we are to match the big bodies of the likes of Geelong. I felt we have been too easily muscled out of contests these past few weeks. I realise that Fly's game plan is one that doesn't require 'bash and crash' necessarily but I feel we need to get tougher at the contest if we are to take the next step.

There were a few in the gameday thread that completely wrote him off yesterday. He was a game-changer... loved how attacking he was yesterday.

oh really? What was the basis that they were writing him off? Second year player that can impact well. Just needs to increase his time during the game that he impacts. That will come

yeah i know what you mean but these days you have to be prudent. There is short stepping and then there is not charging recklessly into a contest for fear you will end up getting a two-week ban (not later let off on appeal because that will never happen). I think Beau is in the latter category. He has some footy smarts.

That goal aside, I think he had a very quiet game (loved the long run though).

I just really want to see him realise he can be an attacking player at the clearances, getting the ball and bursting into space with speed. He doesn't do it enough

In fairness to Beau, it seems that his prime responsibility is forward 50 pressure. Lock the ball in and create both perceived and actual pressure on the opposition ball carriers. He has been lauded for his pressure acts all season. On that basis he shouldn't be judged too harshly for not taking more offensive opportunities. That said, he does seem to be finding himself upfield more often and even in defensive 50, so his role may have evolved somewhat over recent weeks. I think he plays his role well and I hope that he is given more direction to be offensive in his role.

been a few games this year where his work rate/involvement has lifted in the second half ..... and that goal was special

Agree, no point going head first into everything and spending an entire career injured. Pendlebury’s MO, go when it makes sense.

Come finals though, you have to go everytime…finals are won by who wants it more. No option to pull out, and I hope that translates to his game.

I did notice one moment where he slowed and put out an arm rather than stay on the train tracks. We are human.
