When the breach involves non cash incentives which are allowed by the rules and were within amounts allowed by the law it becomes very ambiguous.

Football Geelong obviously had a very different interpretation and felt it was a breach and subsequentlyade their decisions.
They were 1000's over.
They are cheats.
Penalty a joke.
No more words......

This is where the $3040 was from.

"Non-cash benefits in the form of an award provided by a Club to Players up to a maximum value of $300 per week per Club, and to a maximum of $100 per week for any one Player of the Club, may be treated as not being a Player Payment and therefore not included in the calculation of the Club’s Player Payments".

They cheated......

This can only end really well. Ros and Saint BKD! Suprised it’s taken this long for something to pop up.

On a more serious note folks, can anyone post any details such as result, stand out players and any injury concerns, from last Saturday's practice match against Sorrento? It's friggin' hopeless trying to keep up with such things in SA and the club website doesn't seem to be too well updated. Would be nice to know how the new boys have been going and how well Otis has the boys tuned up before the first game next weekend.

The 2017 BFL Premiership will always have an Asterix next to it *******

With the penalty sending a pretty clear msg, very harsh IMO especially when you look at the lettuce leaf the EDFL have slapped clubs with, if the 2018 Premiers F up, they may just loose it.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Torquay on a mission following this.

Harsh? Your’e not serious?

Only when you compare it to EDFL,
Aberfeldie 10k for their flag and no points cut, Doutta Stars a warning and Pascoe Vale 1k.
Where’s AFL Vic in this case.
They have a 250k cap and still cheat.

Torquay should appeal

I’m not worried about what other leagues are doing. This punishment is a joke. The loss of points won’t effect them and they were happy to breach the salary cap last year so the
$10 000 drop means nothing. It’s basically a $20 000 fine. It’s certainly not a deterant for other clubs who might be cheating too.

I’m not so sure, if it continues and clubs win flags because of breaches, they’ll have to take harsher action.
