of course caffeine isn't banned.

fingers crossed he's OK. I've heard he's not actually in intensive care, so hopefully not as serious as it sounds

Interesting it's Collingwood supporters laying the boot in most of all.

Just another reason why it'll be sweet watching them lose a preliminary final again this year.

why does he keep ending up in hospital for innocuous things?

Tell me what things he has been in hosptal for ? I mean really tell me what you know that makes you say "innocuous" things. I mean do you have any information that you could share with us or do you just read the trash that is the hearld sun and form an opinion from that?

The bloke gets drug tested three times a week by the AFL.
He is intensive care, which is always serious and still, there are a minority on here who think they are clever by taking dumb pot shots.
Just hope he is OK.

agreed.

and IF as some people here are inferring that its drug related of ANY sort. The ambos would have given him narcan, and he would not have been unconscious on arrival at Epworth.

Can I ask a question that someone with the applicable knowledge can answer. I ask this question, admittedly, out of ignorance, but the question is this: should someone with a history of abusing narcotics and drugs of dependence like Ben Cousins be using sleeping tablets?

and Caro's articles

You can mix sleeping tablets with many different drugs of which do not have an adverse reaction. Now that is drawing a long bow by your assumption.

Or you can have a reaction without mixing it with anything

I never stated I had actual evidence of what happened so your attempt to disdain somebody making an assumption is argumentatively poor.

Why then make an assumption mentioning amphetamines and cathinones other than to discredit him

If it was just an natural adverse reaction then that is what they will say it was, otherwise I doubt will find out the true story. Which is the reason why I wrote what I wrote.

Regardless of what is said, the forum is already in overdrive with assumptions

Yes. No one abuses sleeping tablets. They make you feel terrible. If they have codeine or are valium then thats a different story however

The alternative isn't easy either, insomina is truly awful, maybe he feels it's the only option available for him to sleep. The club should work with him to explore other options, book him into a sleep clinic and try and get him well.

diazepam ie valium is in the same group as temazepam ( a sleeping tablet).
ie bennies. used in conjunction with any other drug can be lethal.especially if tolerance is an issue.

youd be a fool to think he is strictly using 'sleeping pills' for sleeping... the guy has a proven history of addictive drug behavior... i can confirm sleeping pills are in the 'highly addictive' drugs category, anyone who has dunked a few zanny bricks after revolver would attest to this..

youd think he has also taken them in a fairly large dose, given his current situation... or as a cocktail... you dont get fitter than fit guys going to hospital for taking a single brick..

First was the report that Delidio had his arm broken when rushed off the ground - 10 mins later he is back on and starring.

Then the report that Andy Collins was "knocked out cold" and 5 mins later kicks two match winning goals.

Now the report that Benny is rushed to intensive care. Maybe he will come out and star against the dockers on the weekend.

Tough mob at Tigerland or sensationlist knee jerk reaction reporting?

sleeping pills aren't recreational

****ING LOL

clearly not in the scene... you need to get out more...

plenty of people addicted to over the counter meds such as sleeping pills and pain relief, which when taken in large enough doses, deliver a effective high....
