There is only one other player I have seen who works as hard on a footy field (Robert Harvey).

Don't forget Cousins started out as a small forward in '96 and '97 (he kicked 57 goals over those two seasons).

Some people have a real hang-up on some players being "receivers" but lets face it - an effective midfield needs quality receivers and if you have a player with fantastic speed, run and endurance - why would you want that player at the bottom of packs as that would not be making use of their best attributes.

And of course a receiver still needs to dispose of the ball to a team mate and Cousins does that very well.

I rate Cousins over Judd in importance to WCE. Judd mayb a 'super star' but Couz oozes passion, fitness, toughness, heart, etc.

I rekon Cuz would do well at the Swans And if there was a choice between Cuz and Judd, i'd pick Cuz.

Agree. Judd is the better player (not by much) but Cousins is able to lift the team like no other in the Eagles line-up. An absolute champion, absolutely no doubt.

Judd has more natural talent and the fact that cousins performs at judds level is full credit to his work ethic.

Ayres comments before about cousins not being damaging are irrelevant now, i'm sure even he would dismiss them. He is now very damaging and can ussually set something up.

Ben cousins is up there with hird etc. imo and is a star of the game, should go on to play the most games for eagles and hopefully a premiership.

The fact that he has won 4 of the past 5 eagles b&f awards while judd has been there is very amazinng.

i dont know what game you were watching, but ben cousins was definatly best on ground, he's a champion, judd does one or two really good things in a game, but cousins does awesome hard working stuff all game, he's a champ

People Pigeon-Hole him because he gets alot of the Ball. Yes he Runs harder than probaly anyone in the comp, but His footy-smarts (greg Williams like) is what gets him the ball. i.e Reads the play well and runs to the right spots etc.

Ill be honest and say Cousins has never really struck me as a brilliant player, he is very hard working etc but yesterday he was an absolute powerhouse
