I take a "hope for the best, prepare for the worst" approach with Ben. It would be wonderful if he kept to the straight and narrow from now on.

Basil Zempilas confirmed on 6PR that there was money involved but that as you’ve suggested it’s not going directly to Ben. It’s going to a trust administered by a lawyer if I heard correctly

He also indicated that Cousins/his family initiated the contact

Most people lie to themselves that they are fine on the gear and are being picked on by the police/freinds or the media in Ben's case. They generally have a justification for all of their behavior that makes sense in their own mind but is complete bullshit to anyone else.
I've had a few friends recently lose the plot on meth. Gone from a mother of two to losing all custody of her kids and in jail within 12months.
