Ben Cousins v Brent Harvey

OK here is the deal Me and My mother who is a North Melbourne supporter have been arguing about who is the better player in thier prime North Melbournes Brent Harvey OR Richmond's Ben Cousins. What do you guys think

He only really missed a year. Let's just hope he doesn't get an injury like Carey did and becomes finished by 32. I was hoping the Hawks would take him, plenty of room in the cap until the Buddys and the Roughys sign their next contracts.

As good a player as Harvey is, Cousins is just something else.
In his prime we won't ever see much better.

Cousins best was better than Harveys, but Harvey has been consistently good for a longer period. I don't think Cousins will be a better player than Harvey from 2009 onwards.

for a longer period? Cousins was very good in 98/99, our shining light, undisputed best player between 2000-2003, and was great up until being axed. Cousins has been playing A+ grade footy for much longer
I wouldn't say they were very different midfielders. They are both receivers (although cousins is accomplished inside) with damaging speed, agility and finishing skills, and like to kick a goal.
