Just after he was delisted by the Crows there was some talk going around that he might end up with Brisbane, don't know if there is any real truth to it!

Nope, Lethal squashed that when he phoned Ben Hart, told him Brisbane weren't interested and suggested he hang up the boots as a one-team player.

A recycled player ? Dean Laidley will be getting very fidgety.

Carlton could pick him up as well as he certantliy wouldn't be the worst player on their list.

Pre season draft more so.

Its Port Power. Offered him a one year playing deal and will then move into coaching
Have you got a source for that startlingly unlikely scenario?

Port don't need any worn out medium height defenders. We've just had a big cleanout of older players to make way for young guys.

Also at a press conference yesterday announcing the composition of Ports coaching panel Peter Rohde was asked how close Hart had been to getting the nod. He made it clear that Hart had barely been considered and stated that he'd had a coffee with Ben Hart and told him that he would not be appointed to Port's coaching panel due to his lack of experience and advised him to look at options elsewhere.

I wouldn't object to him playing for us for a season or two, rebounding off half back with Wirra etc

He's always been a player I've admired and to me his performance hasn't dropped significantly with age.

The only problem would be fitting him in under the salary cap and also hampering the development of other younger players in the side. But I still think he would be worth the risk for a season, given we can afford him

He would be a good pick up for your club given where you are at.....but only to be used as a back up for others if needed..........I don't think he'd be asking too much salary wise to be involved in another premiership campaign or two.

He was still playing stellar footbal until he got injured this year. Every aspect of his game quickly deteriorated and he never got a chance to prove himself again. At his age and his recent run of injuries and form, he really should just retire.

Give him a base salary, if he wants to continue next year he's obviously so desperate he'll take anything. Great player, but just swallow your pride Benny and retire. The Crows should have kept him on for another year but since they haven't it's all over for him.
