They’re better off spending the money and building stands around the QEO, whilst retaining the heritage of the grandstand. Footprint isn’t much different to what MARS was prior to its development.
The whisper is they bought land on Strath Rd.
If this is indeed true, and it does proceed, here’s hoping they don’t employ the same company who designed Epsom/Huntly or Straths home ground.

With the heritage significance of the qeo I think it'd be hard to upgrade, it's not that big really of space and dealing with local residences in the middle of town with lighting etc would be a nightmare

They only space that can be developed now at the QEO site would be the corner where the old south Bendigo social rooms were.

Would be interesting to see what could be done there

Been rumours of land being purchased at Manness lane in strathfieldsaye for the whole time I’ve lived out here. Was meant to be developed into what the Catholic college site has now become

You could comfortably redevelop from either side of the grand stand all the way around if you really liked. We’re not looking at a 30,000 seat capacity.
The old tribunal house would be the biggest obstacle.

Plenty from elsewhere other than Castlemaine that unhappy with the "inner city" domination of the Bendigo Football League over a long period there champion .

Looks so far Eaglehawk out and maine in, with south to add some pressure. Square will get any good Mildura kid coming down for uni. And they improved as the year went on, can't see them missing, even without toma

Safe to say we’ll have as even of a BFNL season as we’ve had in two decades. You’d be a brave person to pick a winner from outside the top 4 from this year but the road to it has just got a lot harder.

Hopefully it’s a step in the right direction with Moama poised to join in 2026.

Word around town for a while now is the Bendigo Council have already acquired land for their version of Mars stadium, and the supposed location of said land, to me is a ridiculous idea.

I heard out at Longlea, next to Axe Creek Cricket ground

The layout of straths ground and club rooms is dumb.
A fence would be a good start & adequate car parking

Why can't football grounds have grandstands? Check out Torquay FC for a brilliant modern grandstand - it should be the template used for all grounds. South's rebuild is ok but still could be better.

My favourite part about Epsom is circumnavigating all the playing fields just to get to the main car park!!

I’m hoping we will unveil Larry as our marquee off field recruit, would be a premiership double act with the Crazy man!
