It's steve sharp, who managed to get on the square board, they even let him be prez, but bigger things were on Steve's mind, where somehow he ended up at the pioneers, where he was well out of he's depth, but managed to sack anyone who noticed this. Finally was found at and let go of he's role at pioneers, I'd love to know how he even got an interview into that programme, we've got a guy like micky turner that did the same role at geelong for 20 years.

Now he's back to he's old club as the saviour and using all of he's bendigo contacts to suggest broadford could be the next strath and build a football powerhouse from the ground up, with Steve's help and football knowledge of course. What a recipe for disaster

This is the biggest ****-up in the history of country football in Victoria if this goes ahead, broadford won't have a club in 2 years and the Heathcote and riddell leagues will have overtaken the bfl.

Greg madigan over to you to stop this immediately
Isn't this the same club with bikies and an escort Agency as Major Sponsors?

Won't get accepted into Riddell. Who would want a team that's currently in recess?

Well if it's the best fit for the club and the league, afl vic should be helping. They've played their best footy in 2016 there, it made zero sense to leave. They have grades currently playing in the Northern league, so surely that makes sense, play against Kilmore too and cuts travel. The bendigo move is to a league they've never been close to that level, with those travel commitments, it makes zero sense

Broadford presented to the BFNL presidents 2 weeks back and clubs are getting no say in them joining - Looks like Carol’s happy to add anyone - as long as they’re no threat to her Dragons…Get ready for Toby Mitchell one out in the 50 lol & speaking of good ideas, almost that time of the year where BFNL start charging the seniors and reserves players $15 entry to play in their final…

They have no players. They all left to various clubs (mostly Avenal) and from all reports have no interest going back to get belted weekly.

I know every league is different. But surly players paying to get in isn’t that big of a deal??
Do other leagues let players in for nothing??

Riddell would never accept them based on many factors including their less than positive history. The club is a basket case. I am trying to find the post from the club when they moved to Outer East stating how they were so looking forward to being in the league etc. That didn’t end well with Outer East moving them on immediately.

From a Maryborough FNC perspective expansion isn’t what is needed. It is stability and having existing clubs being viable and competitive. Our club is surprised this developed so quickly and with no substance/ business case. This is a club with no players etc. They are unviable and the past 5 years are testament to that. They have nothing in common with Bendigo footy at all.

I have been a supporter of those in charge and have copped some flak but in this instance there needs to be a good look at what has occurred. The league has a number of clubs not travelling well (mine included) and we want to expand… Our priorities are way off the mark.

Surely this is pie in the sky stuff.

I certainly feel like Forest St End at this time.

No words…

Players and officials didn’t pay to get into finals last season. They were given a link to download a pass to present at the gate

They have to play somewhere guru though? I'd have thought as they've got some grades in the Northern league this year that's the best spot for them they have a rivalry with Kilmore than second option the riddell. But the circus of looking at them in Bendigo needs to stop. There needs to be afl vic intervention, where they actually sit down with broadford and find them a place to play. It's never bendigo its never gv, it's not heathcote and not kyabram.

I have never heard of anything in all my time involved in country footy as broadford entering the bendigo league and I'm all for people with diverse skill sets going on the bendigo board, but this board should be wiped clean with a vote of no confidence from the clubs. There is zero footy knowledge and Carol needs to pack up her gear and head back to latrobe campus, she like sharp is out of her depth, her comments in the addy aren't helpful to bendigo footy at all

Agree Trent. My source told me the club was interested in the Northern FNL and entry into the bottom division playing teams like Kinglake and Eltham OC. This is a club that 2 years ago was playing teams like Powelltown and Alexandra. How they can survive in the Bendigo FNL is beyond me. We at Maryborough FNC will potentially win a game too….

This also causes issues for our club, how many of our players/ potential recruits who may live in Ballarat for example want to travel to Broadford? Probably zero.

The club does need to play somewhere if they reform. They currently have no football players and a couple of netball teams, nothing in common with Bendigo footy and a history that certainly is far from great/ stable.

The club did meet with league representatives but we certainly didn’t see this getting the legs it has. Maryborough FNC certainly wants to see football thrive and offer community benefits but this approach is beyond belief. I am sure I will cop some heat for my comments but in this instance surely I have enough evidence to support it based on the fact that our club with over 150 years of history and a long standing member of the Bendigo FNL should be the priority rather than expansion and including a club with - well nothing.

Riddells next teams will be Gisborne Giants, Melton South and probably Sunbury Kangaroos. Broadford have had to many chances in RDFL but they keep leaving like they've done in the past. I give them 1 years worth of poundings in Bendigo and they'll be back in recess. Who's to say they'll even have enough players for next year anyway? I wouldn't blame blokes for not wanting to play for them knowing full well what they're about to walk into.
