I have a possible explanation for the Mandela Effect. If you say something nice about me, I may enlighten you.

You're welcome.

You genuinely strike me as someone who if you were given a formal IQ test would come out ranked at the very top of the bell curve.

Can you please enlighten me with your theory?

The other day I heard a song that I haven't heard in a long, long time. To give some perspective about how long ago it was, around that time the WTC Twin Towers were still standing on the New York skyline, Essendon made and won finals regularly, SANFL team the Central Districts Bulldogs were commencing a golden run now over longer than it lasted, Sydney was still basking in the glow of the Olympics, the Eureka and Q1 Towers hadn't been built, there was a Blockbuster or equivalent video store in nearly every suburb, Tom Green horrified the world with 'Freddy Got Fingered', John Howard was Australian PM, Tony Blair UK PM and either Bill Clinton or George W Bush US President.

The song was 'Mistadobalina' by the Funky Homosapien, and having heard it for the first time in over 20 years, it stayed in my head for several days afterwards. Therefore to any Generation Xers, older Millennials or Baby Boomers whose teenage kids liked rap in the 1990s, my apologies if I have put the song in your head now.

While 'Mistadobalina' is certainly a song to get stuck in your head when you hear it, I also had a bit of a Mandela Effect with it. From what I remembered, the song was released and a major hit in about 1995, however when I looked it up I saw it was released 4 years earlier in 1991. Yet I don't remember this song at all from the early 1990s only in the mid 1990s, and it was a major hit when rap was popular. I could understand if I was a year out thinking it came out in 1990 or 1992, but four years is quite a long time.

This isn’t a Mandela effect but it’s similar, and this sort of thing doesn’t normally bother me but **** this one does!

We used to say eg if footy team started well:

“Early days, but we’re looking pretty good here”.

So when the **** did “early days” become “early DOORS”!

I'm from a British/Irish background, and it's always been "early doors" to me.

I’d never heard the term. I think they’ve just become interchangeable these days. I don’t understand wtf doors have to do with anything but I guess you could say the same thing about days!

It came up in my feed someone suggesting new ME - that crappy movie from a while back Cowboys vs Aliens with Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford is now just “Cowboys and Aliens”
I remember it as "and" because it's a play on "cowboys and indians".

Britney one feels pretty meh to me.

She was famous for wearing that mic in live performances which everyone would have seen which is why they remember it and why it was on dolls and in Halloween outfits etc.

I don't remember there ever being that mic specifically in the Oops I did it again music video.

Eg...Nintendo released a game years ago that only had the cobra, they wouldnt make a mistake ignoring the vulture if it was ever there ....not sure if theyre also now saying he was 19 yo when he died, he was 12 yo when he died, but someone says theyre now saying he was 19

Ill have to read up on this a bit

Good little discussion on it on reddit...

Ya It's an interesting comment...

"
I have studied, as an amateur, ancient Egypt stuff, King Tut, etc for 45 years. I have multiple books on the topic I have a bust of King Tut I've been to the King Tut Treasures exhibit, etc. Until I saw a tiktok today talking about the King Tut mandela, and showing a picture of his headpiece with the vulture added to the cobra, I've never ever seen the vulture before. I absolutely 1000% know that it used to be only the snake. It looks so odd to see the vulture now it looks tacked on or something. "

I also spoke to an old history buff today, that also remembers the 1 snake ..
