Keeping your cards close to your chest there rfc.
Looking forward to October's edition, might need to make it a line a month to be ready for rd.1.

Worried potential opposition club strategists might be on here

I’ll do an under 28s team
Apart from Lynch and Dusty
Rioli Young Brown
Short Gibcus Banks
Trezise Taranto Bolton
Cumberland Balta Baker
Clarke Lynch Bauer
Soldo Dow Hopper
Graham Martin Mansell Ross
Then its not an under 28s team if you have 2 over that age lol.

As of now, only my 22 and not who I think they will actually select.

B: Vlastuin Young Broad
HB: Rioli Balta Brown
C: Banks Hopper Ross
HF: Martin Gibcus Cumberland
F: Baker Lynch Bauer
R: Soldo Taranto Bolton
INT: Sonsie Prestia Short Dow
SUB: Clarke

EMG: Nankervis Grimes Tresize Ryan

It probably needs another tall on the bench tbh in which case Ryan, Nank or Miller would be options
Good future team with enough senior heads scattered through. We know with form and injuries there'll be changing spots but that's my ideal team in round 1 if we want to build the next premiership Richmond and still be competitive.

The team list just don't look the same anymore without Jack and Cotch. Have I missed something? Has Grimes retired?
Asked myself the same question after reading the first page.

Not even mentioned in emerg/depth.

if you've got hayes-brown lining up in your forwardline do you even need the other players?

Starting this up early as it will be interesting to see how this evolves over the trade period and off season. Ignore suspensions and injuries. Just a flat out best 22 from the entire list.
My early crack is as follows...

FB: Young Gibcus Broad
HB: Vlastuin Balta Short
C: Banks Taranto Ross
HF: Martin Bauer Bolton
FF: D. Rioli Lynch Baker
FOLL: Soldo Dow Hopper

INT: Nankervis, Brown, Trezise, Cumberland
Sub: Coulthard

Even though I want access to Pickett's kids, I'm more keen to see our current kids.
Im hoping players like Sonsie, Clarke, MRJ, Campbell, Smith etc can have a strong off-season and really push for selection in the early handful of rounds.
Soldo, Dow and Hopper as your starting Followers won't win you too many games of football.

Dow has shown the last 2 games, could be up for it and do well. Hopper I believe with a FULL preseason could do better.
Nothing there that I've seen that Dows best 22. I think in fairness the OP was trying to build a team with our current list and realistically there should be gaps in certain positions looking at what we need to get in from other sources. Hopper is serviceable, but no A grader and I hope your optimism with a lot of others on here is right.

welcome back campaigner

was that a 4 weeker?

Sub: Pickett
EMG. Ryan, Bauer, MRJ, Grimes
Reserve: Graham, Ralphsmith, Dow, Mcintosh, Sonsie

Maybe a bit short, and Ryan or Bauer could easily come in for Ross, Mansell or Cumberland. But I like the balance, mobility and flexible nature of the side. Balta can go back if we are getting monstered and Baker or Gibcus can go forward. Given the talent we have in the backline i've put Dan Rioli in the midfield to see what he can do, and provide some zip and balance around Hopper, Taranto, Prestia and Ross, a bit like Jack Sinclair at the saints.

Watching the finals this week it gave a clear picture of why we struggled this year.

Speed was our biggest issue, not just players lacking speed but also speed of ball movement, combined with accuracy that hurt us the most.

For mine our best 23 next year needs a big injection of speed and good ball users. We've got the guys who can win it at the source, but we need that outside speed to capitalise on that and give our forwards the best chance to compete in space rather than the congestion we were often facing.
