I swear if the scoreline wasn't in the top corner of the screen I would have thought we were eight goals down based on the way the commentators were describing the game

It's in the bottom corner...

Just being a smartass ;)

I know

Just still pissed off

Andrew embleys sister teaches at my daughters school

I've told my daughter to make sure she tells her teacher that her brother is a ****ing spud

Stilled pissed off

Mckenzie played brilliantly on cloke but received next to no praise and late in the second quarter when cloke had all of three possessions some silly person makes h comment that emac looks worried every time the ball is in his vicinity.
That was Luke Darcy claiming Mackenzie looked worried, right? That was a ridiculous comment. Mackenzie was spoiling everything coming towards him leading up to that comment. **** I hate Luke Darcy, he's an idiot.

The commentary tonight was a ****ing disgrace.

The moment I heard BT say, "The mighty Collingwood Magpies take on the Eagles tonight" I knew we were going to get the most biased piece of shit commentary that we've seen all season.

Whoever it was that decided it would be alright for an Ex-Magpie to commentate the game tonight should be shot.

Anyone noticed how most of the best commentators aren't ex-players? They have to actually know something about football and earn their way. Also they aren't bias as F***

It's not so much knowing something about football but more being able to coherently describe what's going on. Radio, especially the abc have it right by using trained commentators to describe the action and ex footballers/coaches to explain the nuances of wat is happening

Whatever they are doing they are doing it right. Even their pre and post game chatter. It just seems so much more educated and less opinion based than the crap we get on TV. They always have a good understanding of teams lists etc weaknesses, strengths and how players are travelling in the WAFL etc. Whereas the crap we get on TV sometimes...

That goes to the very heart of my opinion. Ex players do not make good commentators, it's not their profession, we don't care what they think and certainly couldn't care less who they are barracking for.
Big part of it is the Vic-centric attitude, although the lions, swans, crowd don't seem to cop it.
For all their short comings at least Dennis and Bruce call the game without bias, although some on bigfooty would have you believe otherwise; their idea of impartial is complete saturation such as last night of one team.

The commentary was terrible. I ended up watching the game on mute from half time onwards. BT and Darcy were a disgrace. Shouldn't commentate games if they can't be impartial.

I agree, bruce huddo and dennis are all unbiased and very decent.

Commentators should not be commentating any games that they are affilitated with whatsoever. Dunstall. Brayshaw. Spud, tony shaw.

Listening to dunstall commentate hawks games is absolutely absurd, he's the chairman or whatever ffs.

coverage of the game on saturday was so bad, just getting ear-r*ped by victorian douche bags

couldnt believe in the third term when BT said that "Clokes only had 3 possessions but he looks like the most dangerous player out there", hows about some recognition for e-mac

and how many times did Darcy have to wank on about the stupid ball over the point line in the first qtr. just get on with the game dick head.

i cant stand any of the finals commenting teams, they all just seem to be waiting to use their trademark one liners that theyve probably been thinking about all week and have written down, its almost getting to the point of all these ex-players just over analysing every aspect too many times.

my favorite is still the 3AW broadcast with Rex Hunt and Clinton Grybas, special comments from tony shaw and gary lyon on the 2006 GF DVD alternate commentaries
