An even better one I heard from a Tigers fan when we played you guys

Kane Petrified

On the same theme, Terry Bright the Cat's HFF of the 70's and 80's was

saddled with well earned moniker of "Terry Fright".

A footballer I played against in the bush had what I thought was a very unusual nickname with the other players calling him "Didyaseeme".
It quickly became apparent why he had the nickname when at the after game p1ss up/post mortum he started every sentence with the phrase:

"Did you see me.......take that mark"
.......kick that goal"
.......hit that bloke" etc etc.

i played Footy in the Bush and one of the team mates nickname was "lowline".

This was given to him by the coach due to the fact he was going out with the Coaches Daughter and her "frank" assessment of his sexual performance.

Ha ha. We had a bloke with that nickname in our team a few years ago as well. It was like musical chairs when we would get back to the pub to stay away from him.

Similar to above a bloke at a team I used to play for had the nick name "Pothole" because everyone tried to avoid him.

I know a few people who call Shane O'Bree O'noh! I think I'm one of them but don't tell anyone. In used to call Jason Wild Apple (as in turnover).

I always liked Rowdy for Gavin Brown and Bagger for Gavin Crosisca wasn't bad. Pants for Darren Millane was original. There was the Dominator Johnson and the Penetrator Krakour in the early 80's. The latter wasn't in particularly good taste.

The best sporting nickname I can recall is John Eales - Nobody - because nobody's perfect.

Jimmy Jess - the Ghost
Stewie Loewe - Buckets (hands the size of...)
Peter Daicos - Macedonian Marvel
Robert Dipierdomenico - Dipper
Steve Silvagni - SOS
Darrel Baldock - The Doc
John Nichols - Big Nick
Robert Harvey - Banger
Robert Muir - Mad Dog
Kevin Neal - Cowboy
Phil Carmen - Fabulous

Dave Grainger was known as 'Grave Danger', which was pretty apt btw. My favourite is 'Eisenhower' for Damon White.
that is actually quite clever, makes you wonder how anyone from port would come up with that ;)
