Just wondering the thoughts of people of the best players they can remember that have come off the rookie list of clubs over the past 5 years or since it was introduced. Can't think of many but atm:

Lovett
Brogan
Rutten

are three who stand out to me, im sure there are others ive forgotten.

Hands down win by WCE.

1. 2005 To be AA Ruckman Cox.... 2nd best Everitt to be on AA bench

2. C.Fletcher 04 AA & same again in 05

I'd like to hear of any better?

I think so far this year Everitt just pips Cox for the AA spot.

Michael - Triple-Premiership, IR series 2004.
Copeland - dual-premiership, Risinf star nominee 2001.

Doesnt premiership outweigh AA selection according to players?? :D and in this case, they have actually happened.....

People need to see Coxy week in and week out...

I have mate, and he's a great ruckman.

It is bloody hard to pick between them, both get great use of the ball, and almost second sense with their tap outs, but still If I had to choose I'd take Everitt.

Dont take this as a slight against Cox though, like I said he's been playing fantastic.

Bloody rare rookie listed players become top liners. Cox and Fletcher are certainly that.

For North, Firrito will be the best rookie list player we produce. Good footballer that kid.

We have eleven promoted rookies on our senior list

Robert Haddrill
Rodger Hayden
Aaron Sandilands
Antoni Grover
Andrew Siegert
Luke Webster
One Melee (Steven) Dodd
Happy Gilmore
Micheal Warren
Daniel Haines
Dylan Smith (athough he was picked up after being delisted by the Roos)

All Guns. ;)

West Coast Actually had 5 Rookie elevated players playing against the Saints on the weekend

Cox, Fletcher, Lynch, Nicoski and B Jones

Also, seem that the clubs are trending to pick talls as rookies recently. A sort of try before you buy as they generally take longer to develop

ROFL!!! :D

Here's a list of players elevated from rookie lists over the years. Haven't included them all, just the ones that look like having reasonable careers:

Russell Robertson
James McDonald
Nathan Bassett
Peter Walsh
Daniel Ward
Matthew Bishop
Darren Jolly
Barnaby French
David Teague
Kent Kingsley
Michael Osborne
Jarad Rooke
Aaron Sandilands
Robbie Haddrill
Antoni Grover
Damien Peverill
Cory McGrath
Dean Rioli
Tarkyn Lockyer
Mal Michael
Bret Thornton
Robert Copeland
Trent Knobel
Michael Doughty
Martin Mattner
Ben Rutten
Hayden Skipworth
Greg Tivendale
Stephen Milne
Brett Kirk
Tadhg Kennelly
Quinten Lynch
Chad Fletcher
Mark Nicoski
Dean Cox

Of that lot, in no particular order, I'd rate James McDonald, Russell Robertson, David Teague, Mal Michael, Brett Kirk, Chad Fletcher, Stephen Milne, Dean Cox and Kent Kingsley as those who have established themselves as respected, valuable senior players in their teams.

Of course, others have been very good too, but I see greater flaws in their games that the players mentioned above.

guns?

all you've got there is 11 players who'll never play in a premiership for any club, in fact, you've got 11 players who'll struggle to get 20 finals appearances between the lot of them, and most of them have already been in 1!
