Criteria: at least 10 consecutive games by the player

I would say if would have to be Kouta's streak in 2000
In that year he had a 10 game consecutive streak when he averaged
18.7 kicks
16 handballs
34.7 disposals
8.5 marks
2.9 goals
1.3 behinds
2.1 tackles
1.7 hitouts
1.8 frees for
1 free against
1.9 bronwlow votes a game
and in that time picked up 19 brownlow votes for an average of 1.9 brownlow votes a game

was a bit unlucky in a game he got 33 disposals and 3 goals 4 behinds to get only one vote
and in another game got 33 disposals and 4 goals 3 behinds and didnt get the 3 votes

his best return in a single game was 38 disposals, 8 marks and 5 goals against north melbourne

trully unbelievable
I don't think this has ever been bettered or could ever be matched
but prove me wrong
Chris judd had a great run in 2006 for 9 games averaging 2 brownlow votes a game but only averaged 27.5 disposals and 1.5 goals a game
his best return 39 disposals 6 marks 4 goals and 8 tackles

again in the beginning of 2007 he had a great run in the first 8 games polling in every game, and getting 16 brownlow votes to average 2 votes a game
but again he only averaged 28.8 disposals and 1.25 goals a game
his best return 31 disposals and 3 goals

Ablett has a good streak this year but nowhere near kouta's level of dominance
his best return 39 disposals 4 marks 2 goals and 5 tackles

What do you think has been the best streak by a player
(i will accept 9 games or 8 games, just dont want 3 or 4 games streaks)

Ignore the brownlow votes, we know the umpires know nothing.

But Kouta's streak would be right up there. Sheer quality.

10 good games in a row - nice. Should make it in to a box set.

Worked for the Saints.

Some people were suggesting that Judd's best has been better than any midfielder's "best" in the past ten years or so. But I do not agree. There is probably one massive quality that makes Kouta's best better: he was awesome in the air. Massive leap, could pluck out a mark with one hand, contested. His aerial game shits all over Judd's.

except kouta was 28 in his prime
if judd can improve he will beas damaging in a game (besides in the air)
he has 3 years

I was only young during the period when Kouta was dominating, but I remember just being absolutely afraid of what Kouta was going to do to North when we played him. If I recall correctly, Simpson tagged him and he simply destroyed us.

Nathan Buckley had a good run at the start of the 2000 season where he averaged almost 31 possessions a game, kicked 15 goals at an average of 1.7 and over 1 Brownlow vote a game. He also had a streak later on in that season of 6 games averaging 34 possessions a game, more than a goal a game but somehow managed just 6 Brownlow votes.

Someone mentioned not bothering to mention votes because umpires know nothing. I couldn't help laugh when I saw this stat involving Bucks. In a game in 1998, he had 43 possessions but gave away SEVEN free kicks, yet got 3 Brownlow votes. That make me

yep
38 disposals, 8 marks and 5 goals
one of the best games ever

He is a supertsra one of the best players ever, even?
nah
not one of the best
after his knee went he was never the same
had it not ben for that injury he wouldve had 1 bronlow (at least)
and may have gone on to be one of the best ever
not quite up there with hird, buckley and voss though
but that doesnt chnage the fact his 2000 season was incredible
and his streak was the ebst ever

Jason Dunstall, 10 games to R12 1994 (including one final):

17.1 disposals
10.4 marks
8 goals, 3 behinds
15 Brownlow votes

In terms of streaks the longest and most dominant as a virtually continuous streak was probably Sir Rob Harvey.

Check this out for getting an absolute mountain of ball at top level as a streak.
