I havent seen team of the year, who made it??

Also Willy beat Werribee once earlier on in the year by 4 points but yes Werribee had the better of Willy for much of the season but the best team is who wins the big one like werribee did this year.

Also as was said the difference was Nick G for Willy that year, was a fantastic display!

Yeah i know where your coming from , its really done me that bruno or monty didnt make it & you have shit c***s in there from C Grade & people who dont deserve to be in there , we all know who they are dont we
Yeah we all know who they are Lachy. You could probably start with the bloke named as vice captain. How many games did he actually play ? And did he even have a BOG performance in the games he played because i doubt it. Even though the whole concept of the way they pick this team is a farce your pretty quick to put shit on blokes from B and C who made it and you have a bloke from your club who is over weight and overated who grabs his glory from ''volunteering" for interleague every year and gets looked upon as a star of the u18 comp which he is clearly not.Wouldnt be in the top 30 players in A grade. Once upon a time you got selected to play interleague not volunteered so thats as big a joke as Team of the year imo.People in glass houses Lachy if you get my drift. So the blokes your calling Shit c--ts dont deserved to be judged by a shit talker like you.

Cop that on the chin Lachy.
Mate no one agreed with Asani selection either, the whole concept should be dropped unless they are going to do a team from each division.
I do agree with Lachy that Bruno not making the team is a disgrace he is clearly the best ruckman running around in the 18s and this was proven when Rafferty was second string to Bruno in the rep side.
They should just stop the concept it is ridiculous.
I do agree with you cinderella man, Lachy is a shit talker.

Brains gotta be honest i actually agreed with Lachy about Montebello as i seen St Albans play about 6-7 times this season and he was influential in most of those being winning games. As for Bruno i take your word for it and the opinion of plenty of others how good he is but just have been there on days when he hasnt played that well but that happens sometimes when you hear wraps on players and walk away thinking their nothing special.Suppose you have to watch most weeks to appreciate how good they are.Do like Tuppen though. How was his form in the seniors during the year ?

Yeah Tuppens was really good this year as a first year player. He really held his own and was always given the big jobs on key forwards, he played on Keenan in the prelim and did a fairly good job.
With a couple of years in the gym he will bulk up and be a gun backmen i think.

did chircop or munro make team of the year? they would be the only two from hoppers i could think of? what about werribee & willis? who was picked there?

Ok Im Sorry , I Meant Every Division Should Have A Team Of The Year & You Referring To Asani He Played About 5 Games & Got About 4 Kicks Every Game To Be Honest

Do we have any odds on the league B and F??

Any thoughts onto whom might take out individual club B and F also??

Surely the WRFL will feel the loss of many of the top age players next year. The likes of Chircop, Lawson and anderson. All my tip for league B and f

williamstown beat werribee in the grand final that year after a 6 goal third quarter lead. they won by i think 2 goals in the end umpires were shocking all day that game.
also noting that the last two 3 outings before they met in the grand final werribee won all 3 games by 8 goals +

anyway off 2006 it's all about 2008 now, so williamstown, altona & werribee all have a flag in the past 3 years. who will be strong next year?

My tips are Altona, Hoppers and Williamstown
werribee will lose a few good under 16's to the jets along with a few bottom age 18 players..
hoppers will be dangerous.
Footy God I dont know how or why you think Hoppers and Altona will be strong next year. Hoppers have 3 or 4 reasonably good u16 players coming through - ie A Williams, B Quarier, J Allen and throw in N Byrne, other than that there 's not a lot. Sure they beat a severely undermanned St Bernards in R15 and pushed a similar undermanned Werribee team to 7pts or so in R13 but what theyve got coming up vs what they lose (Pilkington, Munro, Chircopp I think) will make them a 4th or 5th team.
Altona lose their big guns in Chippa, Corey lawson, Cross, sargeant, and have nothing of that calibre coming through.
Williamstown will be a very good team as they have a lot of good 16s and keep some really good bottom 18s like Cam D Altera who think is a very dangerous forward. they will some of their guys to the jets but have a strong group coming together.
Werribee will be very strong as they have an extremely talented group coming through from both 16s teams, plus there must be a core group of their two 18s premiership teams still eligible next year. they will of course lose numbers to the jets but sheer weight of numbers will still make them strong.
St Albans will be interesting as they suffered some number loses from their 16s when they went from As back to Bs and back to As again. They have had a very good coach at the helm who is well respected.
Wyndhamvale may be Ok but wont have Fitzpatrick or Halloran with them as they should be regular jets players.
Spotswood picked up some handy players in their 16s from other clubs this year who will play 18s next year, so they too will be more than competitive.
Port Colts should play As but there 16s were very non competitive in the As but were good when dropped back to the Bs. dont know how many of this years will play next year.
Albion were another team that were non competitive in the 16 A comp and so may struggle with numbers as appeared to happen a few times in the 18s this year when they gave 3 walkovers.
Glen Orden were found to be out of their depth in the 18a comp but lets hope they can get it together.
In short I believe Werribee and Williamstown will be the two teams the rest will be chasing next year.
The above is an opinion only and always remember: opinions are like a...holes - everyone's got one!!:D

Any comments on team of the year or is everyone over it.Is it time the whole idea is scrapped?

My thoughts are if it is meant to be the best side then the team of the year should be identical to the interleague side that is supposed to be made up of the best under 18s in the comp.

Surely people should have to make the side on form and not reputation.
Ramjets was the interleague side picked the best team available? I would like to see a team of the Year picked from either each grade e.g One from the A, one from the B (should only be two divisions anyway) OR just pick the best team available with the only criteria that it is the best team. Your thoughts?

Busta the way I see it is that when each coach is filling out his report to the league on game day two alternate boxes be added to the form for team of the year nominations this should occur for As,Bs and Cs.The coach then nominates two players from his side that were BOG then at the end of the year the two highest vote getters from each club are then awarded team of the year status that is if we want to be pollitically correct or the alternate is for the 25 highest vote getters to be named the team of the year and dont worry about positions in under 18s the cream rise anyway. This way we dont end up with some of the rubbish that went on this year I am of the uderstanding that some coaches were not even asked for noms.

Also further to your comments I agree there should only be two grades As and Bs with at least 12 sides in it playing certain sides three times in one year is rubbish. Also thanks for the wrap.:thumbsu:

Bronson from Werribee was outstanding in the final series, especially in the prelim and granny where he took marks and kicked plenty of goals.
underrated player for mine.

No doubt player of the Finals and a worthy Grand Final medalist I am sure Wezza didnt underrate him and I know other clubs have been watching this bloke can play.:thumbsu:

ramjets, good to see you were up to the challenge!! However, will throw some food for thought up for discussion.
Altona:
I thought Healy (no.1 ) was good for them on the wing. He is a quick ball carrier and was not too bad in the GF when in space. Vivoda is a good player but not sure he is in the best 25. Brandon turner was a solid performer all year, coming back from a shoulder, but like most of his mates was exposed in the big one. Caminzuli made the team of the year - his best was good but when not good, was ordinary.

Werribee:

A lot of people underestimate Nathan Giles who I thought was the best true ruckman all year, so good pick up there. Bronson was great in the finals but not sure he is wezza best 6. Need to add Alex Taylor to the best for the premiers. Dont undervalue the little guy Dave Obrien.

St Albans
Sims and Tuppen are very good players but not sure they played anough games, having said that Asani is also a very good player but got into TOY (Team Of Year) despite only plyaing 5 games. I rate Greenwood highly.

Williamstown:
Fairley and D"Altera - i agree although McLaren was named in TOY

Hoppers:
Spot on with Pilkington, Munro, Chircopp

Spotty:"
Spot on agian

Albion:
Savage - agree, Nicolou not too bad when on song

Glen Orden

No 10 is Andrew Gilmore who had a good year and I thought no5 Dillon Hinge did well coming from Hoppers.

My tip for league B&F is Troy Anderson from wezza with Corey Lawson a close second:thumbsu:
