I'm trying to think of genuinely difficult choices.

Joel Smith
Gavin Wanganeen
Kepler Bradley
John Blakey (?)
Shaun Burgoyne
Gary Dempsey
Tony Lockett
Peter Bell
Barry Round

Plenty before my time, so the answers might be more obvious than I think.

Some good ones here. IMO

Wanganeen was a brilliant player at both clubs but I'm going to say Essendon.

Bradley was handy at Freo

Smith didn't play long enough at the Saints to overhaul his contribution at Hawthorn.

Blakey was a good Fitzroy player but better at North. The fact North were a top side probably helped.

Burgoyne was a brilliant player at Port who had a number of different roles at Hawthorn and has delivered consistently. As a player, probably Port.

Dempsey was the VFLs dominant ruckman through the 70"s when at Footscray. Still very good at North though.

Plugger Lockett was sensational at both clubs. A bit more mature at Sydney which probably says them.

Bell was very good at both but probably more damaging at North.

Barry Round played his best and most consistent footy at South.

Port Stuart Dew was that much better than Hawthorn Stuart Dew it's not funny. Played 180 games and kicked nearly 250 goals. Stood up in the choke era finals as well.

It's a cool story that Clarko plucked a fat dude from retirement and he ended up playing in a premiership, but in reality he played 15 games in 2008, kicked 7 goals and was 15th in disposals per game. He'll always be known for his two big goals in a 5 minute burst in the 08 GF, though.

I'm the absolute opposite on this. Burgoyne had 1 outstanding year at Port. He was probably in our top 5 best player 2 maybe 3 years. At Hawthorn hes been more important for the team for a longer time.

Conversely, Wanganeen played a loose carefree loose running defender in a pretty good Essendon side, whereas his influence at Port wad more profound

He kicked 80 odd goals in a season at Melbourne including 9 in a half against Collingwood
Also took some moty contenders which he never backed up at Freo. He was the whiz at Melbourne and never reached those heights again

80 odd? 76 goals. He had one better season at Melbourne but that's about it. He was still very handy at Freo.

Guess he doesn't have Gary Lyon crapping on about those games so they don't count?

What? Did you somehow take offence at me saying he was better at Melbourne lol

Weird reference to Garry Lyon who was a team mate of his. He WAS better at Melbourne

I said his best season was at Melbourne. What's your point?

I was commenting on the original comment that he wasn't the Wiz during his time in Freo. I'm sorry if this displeases you but I don't agree. I quite like his kick after the siren to beat your mob for example.

Gary Lyon just represents the lazy Vic media who can't see out of their own backyard.
