The only thing that rings slightly true is the kicking them out of finals as they’d be waiting until Round 23 to announce that.

In 2013 the AFL knew from about Round 10 that they were booting Essendon from the finals, but they sat on it until the end of the season as they didn’t want the ignominy of a club playing out a “dead” season as Melbourne Storm did when they played for no points.

This was the subject of the legal action a lawyer was bringing against the AFL - that they’d misrepresented 2013 as a premiership season for Essendon when it reality it was playing 22 dead runners. A class action would’ve followed where members or ticket buyers would’ve signed up to claim their membership and ticket prices back.

Funnily enough the lawyer’s “financial backing pulled out”.

If it happens again, Pies fans may have similar claims depending on when the AFL decided this was going to happen.

Yeah agreed. Rumour is likely BS. List is definitely BS (wouldn't be all good players)
