On the mark there Gordo! Great win by Darley yesterday, although a few of their players are banged up, their commitment, determination & Heart can get them there! (Scotland the Brave!Culture) Melton are the big Improvers this year, playing with around 24 points, sets them up for future success, may not be this year but they must be excited & looking forward to the future, the committee have been strong & patient, they haven't wasted $$$ on mercenaries & should be congratulated, MUST keep the kids! East Point must have come home like a train! Looking forward to next week!
See how they go I’m hearing there is a fair bit of debt at the bloods

As Margret Thatcher once said, WHO told you this? what are their names? where did this take place? If your going to make statements about a club like that, you must back it up!
I think he’s just a salty South fan throwing some dirt on the cross town rival who are a much better club.
Don’t worry about the bloods, South won’t have to play them anymore as they voted to leave because they are a rabble and can’t compete with the professionalism of the BFL clubs.

No salt mate having a good year the bloods And talking about not being able to compete do you not remember the winless season Darley had not to long ago or the decade of the marsh being completely hopeless things can turn around

Yeah they can. I think after Darley had a winless season, maybe 2011? They have won two flags and not missed finals since. The big difference being Darley had heaps of injuries that year and played mostly kids that are now two time prem players. South won one game this year and fielded sides that were close to their max point allocation.

Good effort by the devils. Marsh look to be a team with no confidence at all anymore. They would be extremely disappointed with their year. Lost last years GF and recruited 4 guys on big money this year, Owen, King, Speight and Willetts. Just has not delivered.
Was surprised to see North lose after being up by so much. Wonder how that impacts them going into this week.
This week i’d be tipping East to go straight into GF after defeating Melton and North to bounce back over Darley. As mentioned earlier by someone else Devils may look a bit banged up. Scotland very sore but still had a big impact on the result, even with the game well in hand didn’t take himself off.
What do Darley have over the Marsh? It can't be just Scotland. Reported to be a massive crowd Sunday? How big?

Was at the game on Saturday mate and East Point looked gone. Coming back from such a big deficit should have them choc full of confidence that they can win from any situation. I am predicting they will beat Melton, but as you say, Melton have been impressive this season and I still expect them to make the GF. Would not surprise me if Darley put North out in straight sets. It will be hard for North to come back from such a gut wrenching loss.

I was at Sunday’s game and the Marsh more or less kept up with Darley for 3 quarters and stopped their run out of the back line. But in the last term Darley’s bigger names stepped up whilst the Marsh’s went missing. Kennedy finally got off the leash after Blundell kept him quiet and Scotland and Delahey were great in the 2nd half. The Marsh were weak in the head and folded like a pack of cards

Darley has belief when they play the Marsh & I think the Marsh don't. Once Darley got a couple in front in the last quarter, you could see the Marsh heads drop, body language terrible, game over. Scotland also outcoached Trav on the day. The one player who stood out to me was young Baker, son of Craig, he has taken his game to another level & whilst the opposition are looking for Kennedy or Graham, Baker pops up and plays a blinder, he is also courageous, head over the ball & very physical, all the ingredients you need to be a good finals player. Delahey & Leonard where very good in defence. Dane Grenfell looks fitter than last year & moved quite well, with Heath down there they are very unpredictable a little like Collingwood, with Inglis & Ankram also capable. Big Abe in the ruck was also very good as he plays much lick a ruck rover, his second & third efforts give you an extra onballer. I rate Burton but if he doesn't mark the ball, once it hits the ground he's pretty much a spectator. If Kennedy & Graham get off the leash this week, they will be hard to beat.

Melton South Panthers favorite son and much respected coach announced has signed with Hastings over the weekend. Has there been a media announcement on this from the club. ;)

The poor end to Bacchus's season may have a direct relationship with Sherlock's retirement. After Rd12 they'd lost 3-games by a total of just 35-points and had a percentage of 157%. In the following 6-games, without Sherlock, they lost 4 out of 6.

Surely thats a reflection of the coaching staff and playing group to be not able to find a solution to manage the loss of 1 player no matter how good they are. Plenty of other teams have dealt with quality player unavailability throughout the season and the wheels didnt fall off. Their 2s finished second so can't be due to a lack of overall talent.

You may well be right, it might be a coaching issue, I'm just highlighting that there may be a link that relates to onfield leadership during the game.

Marsh haven't been the same since Sherlock retired, but one player doesn't make a team does it?

In the first 10 games with Sherlock, they kicked scores over 100 in 7 games. Then Sherlock retired and in the last 6 home and away games plus final without him they didn't do it once.

They came out on Sunday to be physical early and gave away a few free kicks & 50s as a result of that, looked like a team whose hardness (or lack of it) had been questioned by the coach.

Having played at maximum 43 points in a lot of games including Sunday and with as much high end talent as any club in the competition, something went wrong.

With Sherlock out you would have thought Speight would have been able to stand up a bit. I think he only kicked 6 goals since Scott’s retirement and wasn’t named in the best once.

Been committed to Sunbury for a fair part of the back end of the season. Sunbury boy at heart has returned home after being gone for a long long time.

If has committed to Sunbury earlier in the year and broken a contract to go there its not a great look. Will the Marsh push for some kind of compensation to release him from his contract?
If he has been appointed to coach Sunbury it only adds weight to the talk of their move to the EDFL. I hope Wardy has his finger on the pulse or we could see a 9-team BFL next year.

Curious to understand why this would strengthen the case?
