That makes three new, 2019, recruits that Ballarat have lost back to their original club after just two games

Not sure what they are thinking recruiting 2 blokes from the worst comp in the state anyway, but they aren't a loss. The 3rd, I assume is Dawson? As Ballarat had no game on Saturday, he may have gone home for the weekend & they've let him play for his home club maybe, time will tell. They wouldn't want to lose him though

Dawson has a clearance pending back to Ballarat.

Nice of the new interleague coach to put his two sons in the squad

Hopefully this isn’t around for too many more years

Might need them as all the Darley players are refusing to play. Wonder if the league will do anything?

I think it’s more the club isn’t allowing them to play rather the players themselves ‘refusing’ to play. Page has been captain last couple years and Leonard has been playing interleague for nearly 10 years.

Chris was a very good country footballer, but I don't think his coaching record is anything flash. IMO the league haven't tried too hard to get a coach who the players would get excited about as Hampden have done with Jono brown. 50 plus is way too many in the squad. Maybe it should be an under 25 game ? Will the league suspend anyone for non appearance . Should Graham be expected to play?

If one club makes a call on them not to play then I would be thinking 10 other clubs will be thinking of doing the same thing with their players.

Like night games we don't need or want interleague games either. We rattle tins 365-days of the year to fund and recruit players to win flags, not to pump up the tyres of league administrators. No club member or official would swap a finals appearance for an interleague win!

I would suggest he was better than very good in his playing days. I reckon the BFL got the back end of his career at Bacchus, as watching him in the Goulburn Valley Football league and the Ovens and Murray footy league in the 90's he would kick 100+ goals per year for fun! Check out his record at Kyabram in GVFL and Lavington in O&MFL. And that was back when these leagues were far stronger than they are currently.

Not able to comment on his coaching abilities but agree in relation to the dubious nature of picking both sons although both were in elite squads as juniors. I guess with Darley players unavailable and guns like Lachie George making themselves unavailable he has to pick someone prepared to play.

I also think interleague footy has well and truly had it's day. Although I still recall wandering over to the City oval in about ' 92-ish and watching Stuldhrier kick about 8 goals for the Goulburn Valley footy league against Ballarat. Massive crowd.

Did not get to any games last weekend. A few interesting scores to look at. Redan with a good win against Sunbury, got a heap of top end talent. Might be a smokey to play finals.
Did not expect Darley to beat South so convincingly, and Lakers have hit back after a poor round one effort.
Disappointing start for the Cobras, a powerhouse of the last few years are now winless after 3 rounds. But even worse is that they have had no wins in any grade, both the reserves and under 19’s are struggling. Must have been a bigger exodus of players that I thought.
A few interesting games coming up, with Marsh against Ballarat, Redan and Lakers, and Darley heading to Melton. Good round ahead.

Melton looking good, If they get up this week they will be 3-1 heading into their Double Bye and hopefully adding Denham and Archard first game back against Sunbury.

Hope the showers are hot at Maccy park this week. Ground very ordinary, cricket pitch a bog and 3/4 of the surrounds ( due to works ) are fenced off. Don't know how east agreed to play 2 weeks ago.
