While they're hardly the bastions of great journalism, Jon Ralph and Sam Landsberger have every right to tip Collingwood against West Coast.

However, using the stat that Collingwood have 5 forwards who average 1.5 goals a game to emphasise their "multiple targets" and "versatile forward line", is a bit redundant when 4 West Coast forwards average 1.45 a game , and that is including Kennedy (3.1 a game) & Darling (2.3 a game - 2.6 if you remove the games he was injured in the first quarter).

Don't mind them tipping the Pies, but at least bring some objective stats to the table.

Collingwood do have a good spread of goal kickers, but they also have a reliance on smalls. Their 4 30+ goal kickers are all smalls. Mihocek has been handy lately but is still pretty inexperienced at AFL level. Mason Cox is good but he's kicked 20.11 for the season from 33 marks inside 50. For the sake of comparison Kennedy has 34.14 from 30, Darling has 43.23 from 51. Richmond rely on smalls too but they also have Riewoldt who is #1 in the comp for marks inside 50.

The next couple of weeks are going to be interesting in the media. Two of Melbourne, Geelong, Sydney and GWS will be gone after week 1. Sydney and GWS I think will get a little bit of slack because they have players out and haven't really been at their best all year but the loser of Geelong vs Melbourne will be torched. Two more teams will be gone after week 2. It's a very even comp so there's no gulf between the top 4 and 5th-8th. If the EF winners go out in week 2 then it's pretty much to be expected most years. If we go out in straight sets with two Perth finals we will be slaughtered by the usual suspects. If Richmond do the BigFooty servers will melt. Hawthorn and Collingwood might get a bit of slack because they weren't tipped to be top 4.

West Perth stomping South Fremantle is still on the cards.

Ive noticed Hagdorn for months now, every time I hear him, he says Elliot Yeos leg is so bad, mightnt play, injections, dont know how gets up each week...blah blah...

Has played every game this year.

Can’t remember if it was Quartermaine or Duffield but on their podcast it was also brought up that they think he’s been carrying a dodgey knee. Maybe something to it? Not sure.
