Gades 1 pick
Stars 2
Heat 3

Interesting who goes number 1

Sixers get highest possible pick, shock horror. But it will be interesting to see teams balance the star power v players who aren’t running off to another tournament halfway through.

I was about to say that I couldn't understand why they didn't just do reverse finishing order from last season but then I realised it was a Cricket Australia event so it was guaranteed to be a ****-up.
and why make it a snake draft bizzare

It's better to be Hobart two pick in a row

nah.

We get last in the 1st and 2nd round(8,16). first in the 3rd round(17) then back to last in the 4th round.(32)

makes no sense how they done it. unless they want to support the big market teams and screw over Tassie(again).

Perth teams getting screwed again. Colour me surprised.......

the team most likely to get the 4th pick(33%) ends up bottom. And it so happens to be the smallest market team. Add this. despite having 9/15 picks, the 2 teams who lost first in the finals end up as the bottom 2.

oh well, it doesnt matter anyway. Hobart would stuff up an international player regardless of what pick we are.

it’s not a name but the level of player who can be picked. So a team can’t pick a minnow from NZ in round 1.
Oh. If they want to, is there a reason they can’t? I’d normally back the Scorchers to do well with lesser known recruits.

Because the players chosen in the platinum tier will be paid mostly outside the cap via CAs marquee payment. So CA only want to fork out the amount (apparently $340k) for players its chosen as marketable enough to be worth it.

David Warner has told Cricket Australia he wants to play in the UAE T20 League instead of the BBL in January. Australia was caught napping with the BBL and the doors have swung wide open for any Australian player who wants to make big bucks overseas and not play what really is a lame competition compared with the rest of the world. His decision will open a whole new can of worms. The BBL is in real strife.

They won't give him a clearance certificate.

This is part of his ongoing battle to overturn his "no leadership positions ever again" penalty from the sandpaper thing. He won't play BBL unless he is captain of one of the teams.

I have some sympathy, tbh. If Steve Smith can captain Australia again, surely they can let David Warner captain a BBL side. He'll be out of the Australian cricket team soon but still can be a marquee player for the BBL for a few years after that.

I'm not so sure the BBL will exist in a couple of years time?

Does he need clearance from CA? I think not

Obviously it could impact his Cricket Australia contract but he's close to the end anyway so he may say **** it. Either way a concern, not at all surprising though. Certainly won't be the last, would've expected Lynny be the first to do this.
