Much better captaincy too, realised the error and didn't make it again.

But yep, shows a growing maturity in Lloyd's bowling. That was as good a spell of leg spin I've seen in the BBL for a fair while.

I didn't think we had enough last night but we got the win. I thought we were helped by some poor shot selection by the Stars

Besides being pace bowler short I think we have a decent squad. To be able to bring in Darcy Short as a replacement for Lynn shows depth. The five batsman and six bowlers is a much better structure than previous years. It mirrors a smiliar structure to the Heat.

Five batsman including the keeper, six bowlers (two spin / four pace) works well and gives options. It is reliant on at least three of the bowlers being able to score runs and accelerate the innings. In our case we have M Short as well so, essentially 7 bowlers.

Hopefully it is nothing serious for Lynn. Not sure what was wrong with Weatherald.when we were fielding?

Think it was a good acknowledgement of the fact it wasn't just a little bit of poor bowling, it was a situation he shouldn't have been in

Pope claimed that it was always the plan for him to bowl then. (which would make Tim Paine the one at fault)

Personally I don't believe it, and just think Short and Pope have each others back.

I mean the coach would absolutely have a say, but there should always be room for flexibility which is where Short failed.

Akeal Hosein is one of my favourite bowlers to watch in T20. I love watching spin bowlers make batters look like fools, and it's rare that a finger spin bowler can have that effect. And also be a genuine threat with the new ball specifically.

I think Local Replacement Players have to be signed immediately after the player they're replacing and named in the next match day squad too. So it would have to be for Short?

Harry Manenti is worth a try though. He did well in the top end tournament for the strikers. And is much better than his brother for Italy. Albeit mostly in beating up on low-tier nations. Does have a 3-for vs Ireland though.
