I don’t love Warner but I don’t hate him either and it’s been hard to see the pile on from media and fans recently. Filling his boots and even Uzzi’s boots will he so difficult and dare I say we will see another bunch of openers come and go.

Hopefully a Renshaw can grasp his second chance with both hands

He’s since gone past Mark Waugh during this innings but looking at this M Waugh would be one of the most overrated batsmen of that late 90’s/early 00’s era

Career average well below the rest on that list and the only one not to get a double ton. Super talented but very flaky to go along with it

If only Damien Martyn was given the same opportunities 4406 runs at 46.37 from 67 tests. Waugh played 128 tests
Imagine if Katich was given the same opportunity!

Katich, Martyn and Langer all in the top order!
East coast into meltdown 😂

I’m very bullish on Renshaw myself so very much hoping he can lock in that opening spot

Green coming in at a tough time again. Been sitting on his arse for a day and a half then has to come in to face the new ball.

Life of a number 6 bat I suppose but would have been nice to face the first dozen or so balls against a ragged soft old ball in order to get himself set.

Not much of a physical challenge when you want a drink every 2 over and change of gloves. No wonder over rates are so poor..

Elgar and the umps should have put a stop to it.
Agreed, one of the worst 200s in your 100th test I can remember

Great knock but should've retired hurt earlier with all the drink/physio breaks. Over rates are a consistent problem yet umpires do very little to intervene when it's the batsmen slowing the game down.

Didnt say it was but its called a test for a reason…. A mental and physical one which it isn’t if you get a drink every second over.
No, you're right. It was remarkably easy for Warner out there today.

Btw, do you have an evaporative or reverse cycle in your living room?

Back in my day we just used to bat in one of these

Agreed but that's not on Warner, also on a 37 degree day you can probably have a little leniency

Who comes in at 6 for Green in Sydney? Play an allrounder or just a specialist batsman?

Not sure who the best performed all rounder at Shield level is so far this summer.

Hazlewood likely for Starc. Morris a smoky if Hoff’s side strain still isn’t quite right.

Edit - Aaron Hardie also a smoky?
