Big Day Out spy on facebook saying Radiohead headlining
While that wouldn't surprise me, the Big Day Out Spy lost all credibility in my eyes when they mentioned A Perfect Circle were playing.

Also, if the BDO Spy is correct with his/her predictions, then I can't see myself attending in 2012.

If previous years are anything to go by, the announcement will be around Monday or Tuesday Oct 3/4, with tix on sale about 8 days later.

Apparently 17 acts will be announced on BDO's Facebook and Twitter on Thursday evening, with the three headliners announced on Friday's JJJ breakfast show.

Correct.

Looking forward to it..

Radiohead seems a very strong rumour to headline by all reports.
On the official BDO Facebook page they claimed that none of the headline acts begin with the letter R, so it sounds like that won't be the case after all.

Personally I think the headliner will be Pearl Jam or Soundgarden, but there's so much in the way of rumours going around at the moment, I won't believe anything I read until it organisers confirm it Thursday/Friday.

I just read that Thrice released a new album a week ago.

Could they be a possibility, or are they more a Soundwave type band?

Having played Soundwave so recently, I can't see QOTSA playing the BDO in 2012. Can't say I'd be upset if they did though!

Most of the more fancied rumours seem to have been denied so far, the ones that stands out to me as still being on the cards are Soundgarden and System of a Down.

Radiohead is overrated - glad their not coming.
I have seen QOSTA about 4-5 times now, it seems they are in Australia every year.

I hope the 'P' headline rumour is wrong - would love to see Prince and Tom Petty for the first time and Pearl Jam again.

according to BDO official, no headliner starts with P either.

so unless PJ are playin the boiler room, it rules them out.

Makes it pretty interesting. They have kept things under wraps well..

I get the feeling they didnt want people to expect Radiohead or Pearl Jam leading up to the announcement.
People's hopes would of been let down big time!

Pretty difficult to top those two.
