Big man joins Springy Dees

Not a bad get for the Dees. He played at Cora Lynn for the last few years with a mate of mine. Reckons he 'just goes' these days but bar sales should increase 100%!!

Obviously that little 'problem' has been sorted out for the Dees to sign a player like this. As my mate said, he certainly wasnt playing at Cora Lynn for peanuts.....

I just hope for Springy sake that they haven't spent a fortune on Esler. I remember playing against hime 10 years ago when he had a year @ Mornington and he struggled back then! I know they are after a Ruckman since Big Show left (don't come cheap) but maybe someone a bit younger might of been the go. Short term fix??

What a joke this bloke is 38 yrs old and is an acholoic, got sacked from sth croydon in the efl for turning up pissed to games, springgy have got rocks in there in heads he is a major disruption, also got booted out of scoresby for being with another blokes mrs and caused the club in turmoil, his playing days are over he should give it away and stick to drinking.

You sound a little upset there satan, wouldn't happened to have been your missus he slept with would it.
We'd have him at the Den, could only help a young ruckman learning his way through the game.

Dont know all of the guys going to Dandy but I assume they are all senior players and if this is the case Springy did win a flag so these guys playing at any side in 3rd divy I think will go OK and would be good pick ups, anyway Joose is also good mates with a few of them so maybe he might give us members some insite's ? Anyone have any knowedge about there new coach hope knows what he's in for from what I hear they dont look after the people that matter ?

Aroundthetraps in answer to your question Dandy Have signed Kempy as Assistant Coach, Big Show, Drewsy, Retta and Bozza. Drewsy didnt play any footy last year due to other committments and retta and Boz played a handful of games between them. In relation to Ty Essler I think he would still be a very good player if his ankles hold up and with Hally coming back I think they will ahve a good year and hopefully play some finals.

My Question is what is going on down at Springy to allow some great servants of the club to walk out ???

Kemp served the club well in the past.He proberly relized that his best days are behind him and the step into divvy 1 would more than likely find him setting the alarm to get him up for the reserves.

Saret is a good player who is also injury prone and age might be catching up with him.

Drew/Jooce Cabose is a big man that cant catch and gives away more free kicks than he gets.

Boz a nice guy but reserves at best.

Good luck to all.

East Brighton fell for the same 2-3 years ago letting 5-6 good clubmen and solid 1's players go and let me tell you need blokes that are part of the fabric and love the club.Especially with the step up what happens if the recruits don't fire or there are injuries???

April Fool you cant begrudge a bloke still wanting to play senior footy. In relation to some of the recruits that may or may not be getting paid some have young families and mortgages so they are well within their right to earn some extra coin.

I hope they haven't factored in Footy money into there mortgages or family needs, as it could prove a cold and hungry winter for their families. That Is All

one glove if you were offered coin to play footy you would not consider it, considering you are a poor student.

i honestly a. would never be offered coin and b. would not ever ever leave my club for money, never.

but thats me, some people come from different club cultures and different mind sets about football. fair enough they need money but that is not the way i see football. nor do most in divi 3 southern.

as i said earlier, with the right club people, atmosphere and culture, you don't need to 'buy' players. they will just come

You are living in a fantasy world if you think you don't need to buy players. Money makes the world go around unfortunately so all the good players expect to get some coin. There is a competitive market for players with ability and you can't begrudge them if they are offered good money in a free market.
Sure you can have the basis for a good club with 18+ senior players committed to the club but teams that win flags bring in those 3 or 4 extra good players just to put the icing on the cake. I am not saying clubs should go out and buy a premiership but if you have a good core group with a sprinkling of top players which you pay then you have a recipe for success.

my world isn't a fantasy mate. think what you want about your money, we're playing divi 3 southern.. You don't need to buy players to win a flag. that thinking in itself is absolute tu.rd

You could possibly win a div 3 flag with no paid players but you will promoted and then relegated the next year.
Your line of thinking is absolutely ridiculous. Players move from club to club for differing reasons. They might follow coaches or mates but more often or not they go somewhere where they can get there beer money from. The extra few dollars in the pocket is worth the clearance.
I am from Lyndale and we generally pay nobody, a select few may get something but it is nothing that breaks the budget. And this year we have lost Weeding and in the past we have lost others to clubs that can offer them some coin.
If you could hold onto them for nothing we would be a much better side with the likes on Ponter (KWR) at ff and Pimm (Scoresby) also in our forward line.
Oneglove I don't know what club you are from in div 3 but I do hope you win the flag just so you can learn this lesson.
