Vera Lynn is one of two famous centenarians to pass away this year, the other being Kirk Douglas. Olivia De Havilland, the last surviving member of the cast of Gone With The Wind, is still alive aged 105.

Predictably the rewriting of history has happened with our brave boys ogling the forces sweetheart and people pretending that it was awesome sleeping at Charing Cross tube station.
