Hi all,

As you may be aware, deeman87 is dealing with some personal matters and let me know that he may be away for periods of time.

He hasn't been online since June and I am a little concerned. I have emailed him in the hopes of a response.

With finals around the corner I'll set his line-ups until such a time as he returns. I will not be accepting trades obviously or any other critical decisions.

While it is clearly insignificant in the grand scheme of things, I wanted to be as transparent as possible.

Again, he did say that he would be away for periods of time so hopefully he is simply resting and recovering.

If anyone has any other contact details for Deeman (beyond his email address) please let me know via DM.

Is the developer, Ryan, the one that currently operates our Category platform in the existing Ultimate Footy? If so, we may not have any choice as he may not want to run 2 separate sites. I guess time will tell but it's probably not a bad idea to register our interest for both leagues .

I think the main benefit is we have a backup for when/if UF wraps up. It’s not exactly a stable option but there was no other platform to support us. This gives us an option, a backup and if anybody drops out it will be easier to replace a coach.

Getting someone to take over a team on a platform that is winding up isn’t easy.

But yeah, agree it's at least worth throwing our names in the pool for early access.

If it looks good for everyone, then we'd need to make a decision after that.

I believe he sold UF off maybe to the Age originally who then sold it to AFL Fantasy.

So think this is just his newest iteration.

I’ve got early access and it looks ok. Just started playing around with it and we can use this as an alternative to UF if needed. So far scoring can be made the same. Can also handle pick trades, future trades ect and offseason trading.

Can’t see anything about picking up players mid season.

I’m normally of the if it ain’t broke don’t fix it mindset, but.

This looks like it will cut some of the workload of managing the league especially pick and player trading.

Further I’m generally happy to support small businesses and those who want to improve the experience. UF the last 2 years is just on life support.

So yeah maybe we need a poll but I will be advocating for a move without having done any beta testing myself.

Have just started playing around with it for my points scoring league with mates. Looks like a really nice setup so far. Lot of promise. The set up for future pick trades and assets seems really clear. Having so much set up for the off-season well before next year is really handy.

How would it work if we migrate? Set up the same teams and the same draft picks and push forward? If we can do that I don’t really mind which platform it’s on?

I didnt do the hard work on allocating it this time (but have done it in the past moving points league from UF to AFLfantasy).

Someone has to manually move add all the lists and move around the draft picks. Similarly resetting all the rules to suit the league. So its a decent job for the commissioner which is more work than setting up the new year in UF. But once done it looks like a lot of the hard work during the year is less.

IF we move everything would be need to be 100% the same. Same lists and picks and scoring. We have all spent a very long time on these squads.

It is worth pointing out this new platform also alludes to a subscription fee.
