Lucifungus did a good show yesterday. Expected to be the only guest but ended up having a decent crowd (~30-40 probably). That twice as many as Purification had last week. Both will probably hardly pay their oversee flights with this...
Cool! Their other band Hydranaut are worth checking out, and of course Pod People.

Pantera and the Hu id like to see for first time. Seen about half the lineup and would see some again but really there are four bands id go for...

Pantera, the Hu, log (seen 3 times) and skindred (seen once)

Not sure that is enough. King parrot and thy art are good live but have seen many times. The rest doesn't appeal.

Awful lineup tbh.

Pantera were trash when i saw them in 1994.

Yeah saw them at Festival Hall years ago, was one of their all time worst shows..

Putrid lineup.

Not a lot of other bans that interest me either, you'd think they could easily sell out another show at Festy & Horden Pav if there're inclined.. Throw in shows at Adelaide & Perth as well while they're at it.

Was that in 01? I was pretty much still a kid then (I think you and I are about the same age) and loved it, but I probably didn't know any better. I remember Phil being incredibly drunk though. The first thing said into the mic was, "We're the kings of *ing metal" as Hellbound started.

Then I saw Down in 06-07, when he was sober, and he was a completely different person, very nice and humble to the crowd.

To add a little to my previous post...

I think I'd see Pantera with pretty low expectations. I don't like seeing bands just based on reputation but i do feel compelled to give them a go. The Hu seem pretty cool. Not a huge fan but i'd see them for sure. Then Skindred are good fun so id see them again. Lamb of God are good live so id see them but wouldnt be that enthusiastic. King Parrot are fantastic live but not sure a festival suits. TAIM are good live, not really my thing. Disturbed would be just on reputation but i dont think i could tolerate them for long. Halestorm have the token female on the lineup and i saw them at Download years ago and they just weren't good at all. Didnt help that i was burnt out after a long day. Thats about the entirety of my thoughts on the matter. I'll probably go just to say ive seen Pantera and to hopefully thoroughly enjoy Skindred and the Hu & to a lesser extent King Parrot & LoG. I might check out Speed. They are the one band that i havent heard much from and may somewhat appeal too.

He was drunk or on smack in 94 when i saw them and kept talking shit about Dave Mustaine for some reason.

It was, RTS tour, the band were fine but struggled with Phil being off his head, punters in the crowd were spitting on and throwing beers & shit at him. Band split up a couple of months after it iirc.

My jaw has dropped with surprise...

The only thing I can think of with Mustaine is when he tried to recruit Dimebag (before Marty), but Darrell wouldn't go unless Vince came too, but as Nick had already joined it didn't go ahead. I'm not sure if there was any rivalry between them, I always thought Darrell, Vince, and Rex were Megadeth fans, though Phil was very much his own man in those days.
