Went and saw The Killer at Lido. Enjoyed it and much better than the s**t I have been exposed to recently at the cinema. Just got home and have put on Dismember’s s/t album.
Yeah last I saw was the Nun 2, actually fell asleep in the theatre. I heard The Killer & the new DeNiro film are the one's to go see atm.

Didn't think Barnes's vocals were that bad personally but Fisher's are next level no doubt. One of the first death metal CD's I ever bought, stuck with cassettes till the bitter end due to costs as a teenager.

Vile? Remember getting Eaten Back to Life lp for $5 at Metal for Melbourne in the sale bin. Think I got King Diamond's 'The Eye' lp for $8 in the sale bin too. Took me a while to warm to CC as I thought they were a 'joke' band of sorts. Weird eh. Had Eaten Back to Life on in the car yesterday - love it.

Yeah Vile of course. Bargain of the century man, it's a good album too, plenty of catchy riffs on there, played it through again a couple of times last month after seeing Owen's YT page, I got one of those white cover Censored versions, Shock records I think. I got into CC during The Bleeding era and pretty much straight away grabbed everything I could get my hands on. That EBTL album you got for $5 would be worth heaps now? Even some of the old CD's I've got of theirs I've seen go for heaps.

Just going thru some of the Motley Crue vids I taped on my phone, they were flipping real good! It'll be a CC & MC day here..

I know what you mean on that, was even more so for bands like Blood Duster & Macabre. You'd initially listen to the material for the bunch of 20 second spurts of the heaviest riffs & breakdowns around before years later being able to appreciate the entire albums.

Got my Obituary and Katatonia tickets sorted. Got caught napping with Behemoth; did not expect it to sell out, and here I am having missed out.

Used to really enjoy Behemoth but boy has that changed. No shock it has sold out though. Saw them on the Demigod tour at the Espy. Don’t remember this but apparently they played the Tote the following night.

I first caught them at the Corner, touring The Apostasy. They still played their early stuff then, but I noticed the last few tours it's as if their first three albums were never made. Haven't seen them since Download 2019 though.

Great show last night in Freo from Devin Townsend! Good mix of old and new but wasn't a huge set... worth it for Dev's banter alone though. Mike Kenneally is the f_____g man but what else would you expect from one of Zappa's stunt guitarists...
Saw Dev last night in Brisbane. Fantastic gig. He is hilarious and you can see the joy he gets from playing. Played a couple SYL songs which were great and i was a huge fan of the setlist. I agree about Mike Kenneally too!

The next show on Thursday features an interview with Michael Moorcock. He's a legendary sci-fi fantasy author and has played with the likes of Hawkwind and Blue Oyster Cult. He created the concept of the multiverse and the characters known as the Eternal Champion (which inspired the band to take up the name). Oh and there's some Lemmy stories as well. :)

Love that album. Think they were smoking some weird gear when they recorded that song; a very ‘laid back’ feel to it.

Yeah. One of my favourite Sodom albums. Wish they did a couple more like it.

Had fun at Motley Crue/Def Leppard last night, I posted this in the gig thread.

I went in with no expectations and I thought it was a great night (for 50 bucks in the nosebleeds anyway). Motley were a lot of fun, was surprised at how good Vince Neil was, I'd heard he was absolute dogs s**t these days, he's never been a great singer for mine anyway.

Was a bit cringeful when Tommy Lee got on the mic and was trying to get chicks to get their ** out, searching the crowd for ** and pointing them out to the cameraman. Also the stripper types they had dancing in stage with them, seemed a bit awkward, well it is Motley Crue of course.

Def Leppard were all class, still getting it done after all these years as well. Heaps of great tunes, I'm not a huge fan, they're a bit cheesy but good fun last night, plenty of the Hysteria album as you'd hope.

Also the bar was set very high by the guitar players, you wouldnt' see three better guitar players in one night than John 5, Phil Kollen and Vivian Campbell. John 5 is perfect for Motley Crue with his style, the dive bombing and squeals were on point and so crisp, he can pretty much play any style anyway though. Kollen is a star too, puts so much detail in his playing, adds a lot of little nuances to what was on the albums. Campbell didn't get much time to shine really but he's probably as good as the other guys too.
