The draft will start as soon as nahnah decides to make his pick. Everybody will have a maximum of six hours to make their selection - but this time limit will only run from 8am-11pm. For example, if player X makes his pick at 9pm, player Y will have until 12pm the next day to make their pick. This is to ensure that nobody is forced to make a pick at a ridiculous time - but you still can if you're up and it's your turn. The time limit simply won't run outside these times. I reserve the right to reduce this six hour limit if things aren't moving quickly enough - but I will give at least a day's notice.

In the meantime, please PM me a preference list of 10 or more Pokemon in order. For example, if you want to take Magikarp with your first pick and Jigglypuff with your second, send me something like this:
1: Magikarp
2: Jigglypuff

If the time allotted for your pick elapses without you having made it, I will make the pick for you based off of your preference list. If Magikarp is unavailable at the pick, I'll select Jigglypuff; if both are unavailable, I'll select the third Pokemon on your list, and so on. Please note that this is NOT a substitute for actually making your pick - I still expect you to make every pick you are able, to ensure that this progresses as quickly as possible.

If you do not make your pick within the allotted time limit, and you have not given me a list of preferences/all Pokemon on your list have been taken, your selection will be randomised.

I saw the first 12 picks and thought I was getting screwed, then I realised this works in my favour.

Question time.

When picking Pokemon with mega capabilities do we have to nominate them as as our mega when making the pick or can we nominate it after the draft when we see the balance of our teams?

You'll need to nominate it when you make the selection. If you select Mega Blastoise, for example, nobody else can use normal Blastoise either, though. It's just to make sure we don't have people selecting five Pokemon that have Mega Evolutions and then switching around which evo they use in each battle.

I understand that we only use one mega throughout the tournament.

But do we nominate it as we pick or can I wait until the end of the draft to finalise my solitary mega?

I don't want to lock in Mega Lucario for instance as I could pick Mega Pinsir up later on or something?

My bad, misunderstood. I'm happy for you to wait until the end of the draft, as long as I get it before matches start.

Funnily enough, I have been too. My teams so far have been a bunch of individually excellent Pokemon. I'm not a great tactician, so I've come undone against opponents who have been able to make the right moves in a given situation, whereas I have just tried to use six individual strategies for each Pokemon, and normally at least one has worked (hence my high amount of Pokemon lost for games won).

This time I'm going to try and go for the Ross Lyon "you know what I'm doing but you can't stop it" way. We will see how it goes. I'm not confident of winning.

Spoiler alert: I don't use tactics. I brute force everything. So ... I'll remain the worst player every in this tournament and every one after.
