OUCH !!!!

The poker gods (software) punishing me for forgetting about the tourney, and joining 90 minutes late with 12 people left and 840 chips.. 5 double ups in about 10 hands sees me in contention, then this...

Oh well - third is better than nothing.

Now I've got entry funds for some more BF tourneys I guess.

Should have raised of course, however chraz88 would have called, and hand would have played the same on the flop.

Believe it or not.. I kind of panicked when I saw AA, by then, I had already called instinctively.
Feel a bit better about the fact that no matter what I did (except fold), I was screwed.

Still - gotta learn to play those damned A's

Good one Tooley. Down around 1500 chips and massively short stacked at one stage.

Sorry MrBlonde. After getting down to $600 in chips, I had an amazing run of luck with my hands - that included.

Managed to get it back to 20,000+ Went all in against Tooley, and would have been equal with him, unless either the 7 or 9 came up on the River...it was the 7.

Tooley took out pretty much the whole final table so i was severely shortstacked for the battle, took a stand with this hand, nearly got there.
Ah well, good fun was had.

I took my stand too early I think. Could have played for second, but oh well, went for the equalizer and it didnt pay off.

EDIT: Nice comeback by the way. Sat on around 4,000 chips on the first table for quite a while, and then all of a sudden made a stong run to be leading the table.

I played some small cash games before the tournament and every bad beat I had involved me holding one or more aces.

One especially was all-in on the river, I held AA and the only danger was a possible straight but the guy had to have called my pre-flop raise and increasing bets with 3 5, not possible I thought so I called. Did he have it? You bet.

I think I read on one of these threads a tip not to slow play aces. Good advice.

Thanks gentlemen - my first win on BigFooty poker! The link up between BigFooty and Hansa Poker works very well for us. I have tried the Hansa "Sit n Goes" and they are good tourneys too. Bring on the next Big Footy tourney! Tooly.

Bloody hell, I tried to take you out very early on with three queens, and I knew the jack on the turn gave you the straight, but I pushed for it anyway.

No more tournaments when there is soccer on, please! I need more concentration!
