Friday December 20 against United in the QF is an absolute must win game

If we go out un the cups, going into January, Levy may pull the pin.

Will it be too early? We'll never know

Is it harsh? Yes. But he's done that many times before

It's the results when we weren't in a self inflicted injury crisis that has us in 10th
That's true, but I'd argue spurs were playing much better then as well even though there was bad results.
Now city aside they aren't playing well either

The lack of senior depth is really coming to the forefront now.
Spurs just can't do what ange wants.
ive been a more avid fan of Tottenham (check weekly scores and more) since about 2008 and cant remember a time when we had genuine good and proper depth. Seemed we have always sat kids on the final bench places (and not play them to might I add) when a skeric of injuries strike us.

Ange's style isn't good enough to sustain 38 weeks of a premier league season but the squad and its depth is firmly on the other bloke. If Ange's style is to work then we must simply add to the squad in January otherwise adding nothing and doing the same thing is just plain stupid.

I agree, right now spurs are half pregnant. They wanted ange in to play attacking football and be successful, his style relies upon high tempo high pressing, he doesn't have the squad to maintain it.
I get some people will say Ange needs to change but that's not why you hire a manager. You give them the tools they need to succeed, if Ange has to bend his way to fit Tottenham it's game over already.
That's not to say his way is a guaranteed success, but half arsing he way is a guaranteed failure.

The thing that bothers me about the whole situation is the signings we've made..

Dragusin and Gray the only two whom are (semi) regularly playing first team football with serious minutes.
(edit. Forgot Solanke)

Bergvall, Moore, Odobert, Veliz, Spence, Phillips, Yang were all signed as young up - and - comers. Not for the now.

We are wanting to bake our cake and not eat it. Frustrating.. Last two games (Fulham & Bournemouth) I haven't bothered being dedicated enough to get up and watch. Know they're prime spursy to be activated. Lo and behold. It was..

Until we get some form of consistency then sure, maybe that love might come back. Same thing hit me with Essendon this year. What is the actual point in following unreliable, inconstant, untrustworthy teams when you have no idea what you're going to get. That includes one thing I could tolerate.. EFFORT and desire

I watched Bergvall for 15 minutes today he looks a ****ing mile off being ready to play in the PL. Could barely run and get involved in attack or defence he was just stuck in the mid zone.
Spence must just be shit. No manager really rates him at all.
Spurs could easily play alot more of these kids but they also want to be a top 4 challenger, look at the amount of money and talent Chelsea had and how shit they were until this season, spurs regularly have the second youngest team in the league playing and the guys in the side who should be carrying it are just Europa League level players
Porro, Biss and Maddison specifically

My grievance is the academy stars we had last year could well and truly be doing what the incomings have done.

Is the output from Lucas Bergvall better than what Jude Soonsup-Bell would have given us?

Alejio Veliz is loaned at every chance yet given some minutes early. Wouldn't have been better giving Scarlett opportunities?
Jamie Donley and Dorrington were on the bench at times last season and now seemingly cant get a look in (we picked a 16 year old academy kid last week).

Blows my mind what we think we are doing.. Do we even have a long term plan or just throwing mud and hoping something sticks.

To be honest, the only one im truly happy with is Grey. Pay that little bit more because of (a) English, (b) at the level and lo and behold. He's doing well.. We (Levy) always wants cut price deals but when we have actually paid reasonable money it seems to work.

Soonsup-Bell is playing Spanish 2nd division

Bergvall was very close to joining Barca

Hasn't lit it up. But that's a wild take if ever I've seen one

I watched a few U21 games last year and JSB was a driving factor behind our PL2 trophy. Certainly as good as Dorrington & Donley who are certainly thought of highly it seems

Yeah I dunno, I think the main issue is even guys like Odegaard, Saliba, Foden, Palmer, Watkins, Caicedo etc none of them were very effective as 18 year olds. Saliba was loaned out and nearly didn't wanna rejoin arsenal at one point.

Spurs have then gone and brought a stack of kids that age and gone here you go ange, that's your squad. It might be an amazing squad in 3 years, but it's absolutely insane to think they'll impact the premier league at 18. I think because of Yemal people are forgetting how raw 18 year olds are normally.

Ange has liked to build with kids everywhere he has gone so part of its definitely on him, but Chelsea second X1 would be better than the spurs team who played Bournemouth, what do people actually expect?

I think with a lot of the squad it's hard to know where they are actually at because we again have this stupid hierarchy of a squad and many of the fringe types get barely any league mins with the quality players and only get EL minutes. Rusted on trusted members of our squad

1. Vicario
2. Porro
3. Udogie
4. Romero
5. VDV
6. Dragusin
7. Davies
8. Sarr
9. Bissouma
10. Bentancur
11. Maddison
12. Kulusevski
13. Johnson
14. Son
15. Werner
16. Solanke
17. Moore
18. Forster

Richarlison doesn't count because he is never fit.

That's a razor thin squad. Which some might use as the excuse for why us finishing 10th is acceptable for Ange. And I do somewhat agree.

But the squad use and rotation of the following is firstly not helping us on the field clearly, but secondly not helping their development.

1. Spence
2. Gray
3. Bergvall
4. Lankshear
5. Dorrington (injury didn't help)

If he was as good as Bergvall I'm sure one of the 37 clubs between Cordoba and Barca in Spain would have looked at him

No one has rated Spence, it's beginning to look like it's more than just him not being picked

Grays favoured position is in the 6, name me an 18 year old 6 playing for an decent team anywhere in the world? Way too hard of a position for a kid so raw to start in
Bergvall looked horrible today, does not look ready for PL
Lankshear I'm not sure on haven't seen enough.

Also though there needs to be some realism on the academy. Liverpool might have the best academy to first team ratio and they have maybe 4 first team level guys.
Trent, Bradley, Jones, Quansah.
Tottenham aren't gonna have 4 18/19 year olds from the academy ready to play in the Prem. That would rival the best academies in the world

It's impossible to tell with all these guys because we see them in limited opportunities.

Spence - can't get into EL rotation to impress but doesn't get into the PL side because Ange is on a mission to tear another hamstring in our backline

Gray - hasn't had a minute at 6 for us

Bergvall - would love to see him get a start next to Kulu and Biss, with Son and Solanke in front of him. Would be great to actually see him next to our quality players

All of this is based on an assumption that they are absolutely good enough and ange is wrong. Maybe he sees them in training and they are way off it
