I'm over the moon that we have both Thomas & Pendlebury, I love them both! I don't remember tanking but apparetnly we did & I'm sure every team has probably tanked in their history...
But this year was the first time I had ever heard of "Tanking". When your sad excuse for a club came out & basically said "Yes, we are tanking so we can get the number 1 draft pick" "We don't want to win anymore games this season" "So all you other teams feel free to steam roll us, we wont mind, our players don't really care...". I still don't understand why a club would want to do that, it's embarrassing... & all I can say is I'm gald I'm not a Carlscum supporter...

You're more than welcome to add a poll option for me, but at the same time you can add one for Carlton!

Can you show me some direct quotes regarding carlton declaring they are tanking??

The only person that did that was Solarium....come round 6 he tells Gasper to retire as he will struggle to get a game ahead of the youngsters as he is going to play the youth to build towards 2008...openly after round 6 playing for 2008??? Sounds funny!!

Before the round 22 game he admits on radio and Fox he feel compromised about winning or losing the game...winning means he gets pick 4, losing he gets pick 2....Tigers dominate all game, last 10 minutes get steam rolled...



And for all those who are saying why isn't Carlton on the list, if you read the post correctly, it is saying that Collingwood, Essendon & Richmond supporters are all accusing Carlton of doing things their clubs have...which would make them hypocrites.

We can excuse you for having a poor memory because you would have been around 11 years old at the time. Collingwood blatantly tanked and everyone (old enough) knows it. It occurred before Carlton started their dynasty of tanking, but to completely ignore your tanking that year and accuse Carlton or anyone else of it is extremely hypocritical by any Pies fan.

Can you provide direct quotes where Wallace or any other person at Richmond says they were tanking i.e. "We are tanking/were tanking/did tank".

Otherwise all you're doing is making the same accusations that were made against Carlton and in that case if you do believe that we tanked then you must also believe that we must be a lot better than they team that finished last. Furthermore as many Carlton supporters have told us they never tanked and played to the best of their ability just weren't good enough to get the wins.

If you are accusing Richmond of tanking and are saying that Carlton never did that would mean that you actually believe that Richmond will be better than Carlton in the 08 season and were the better team in 07 despite the ladder positions of the 2 clubs.

So which is it? Either Richmond tanked and are therefore better than Carlton or Carlton tanked and are therefore better than Richmond.

Richmond- Accuse Carlton of being crap, despite the fact they finished below them in 2007, have only one less wooden spoon than Carlton over the last six years and havent made the fianls in that time. Not to mention the fact they are just a joke of a club all around- have made two finals series in 24 years.
