We can argue the merits of his selection all we like, but one thing I do like is we’ve made the call early. That allows frampton to focus on the game and not be on tenterhooks all week.

Go well big fella.
Plus none of the players need to keep a stupid secret. Helps them be relaxed.

The right call.

Gives us some flexibility if we need to move him down back.

Just stop Andrews from taking grabs big fella.

Let’s hope he delivers absolute carnage on the field

Interesting to get Healy’s assessment of him which was a comment to Roo from Adelaide, “what’s wrong with this guy he has all the talent and mongrel in the world “

Answer, didn’t work hard enough in between possessions

Go Billy !!!

Does he play forward? Or does he release Howe down back for Jeremy to go forward?
Good flexibility to have, plus is a good ruck option as well, I think he showed a fair bit in the ruck tbh.
I think he played his best in the ruck and was at least the equal of Cameron at centre bounce . Cameron might be the more effective forward . Can’t see it happening but just thinking out loud .

Totally agree. I think Frammo has more speed around the ground too.
Cameron forward would be a bigger handful for Harris and co.
The trio or Cox, Cameron and Frampton rotating forward and ruck to go with Checkers might be the go.

Yep
Cox 60 percent ruck 30-40 forward
Cameron 30 ruck 60-70 forward
Billy 10 ruck. 90 forward

I hope he takes Andrews and throws him on to Brunton Avenue. Then does the same to Daniher, Rayner and Neale. Then Charlie Cameron for good measure.

They’ve gone for safety a bit rather than X factor of Kreuger. Perfectly understandable. Hope he’s not played in defence nor needed there as the backline is humming.

I expect he will almost completely replace mcstay, maybe with some ruck minutes to give cox more forward minutes . A lot of bench time too.

I think our form slide did coincide with undeservedly dropping Billy Frampton at the time (not that he was the only reason or anything).

From that point his form also dropped off considerably to the point where when he was given opportunities in the senior side again, he looked out of place with his lack of confidence and average performances.

We won’t change our backline, so clearly Billy will be playing forward / ruck supporting Cameron. That would mean Cox replaces McStay and plays predominantly forward.

Billy thrived playing in the ruck earlier in the year. Fingers crossed he puts the best version of Billy out there who is deserving of his grand final spot.

Cameron has found some marking form over the last few games.

Cox will still be the main ruck. He is in great form and beat McInerney when we last played. Frampton will be mostly forward at least at the start. From there it will depend how things go but his versatility will give Fly options

Can’t believe we are compelled to play somebody in a grand final that has never even played in a final, and is not match conditioned with all this time off.

We should have played him last week in place of Cameron, planning for this week. Hopefully I’m not proven right.
We should have weakened the team last weak potentially costing us the game in case a tall got injured?

Come on mate this is ridiculous.

its the right call with Billy..forward to keep structure..help out in ruck which he's done well this year for us and allows cox Cameron to rotate forward and also provides key back position cover if need be ..could also allow for howe forward at some stage and maybe sub a tall to get JFN or ginny on in the third
I like your avatar!

I walked out of the G and all the way back to my car in Victoria Parade last Friday night behind Fabulous Phil and his partner. We stood together at a couple of sets of lights but any thoughts of a "Hi Phil" or "great win!" died on my lips when I saw the look on his face. He didn't look happy. He walked ten metres ahead of his partner for over a km! I don't know whether they had had an argument, but he hasn't changed. Still the individual going his own way.

He looked as fit and athletic as he did back in the mid 70's.

Does anyone recall the way he ran the warm up laps before a game 20 metres away from the rest of the team? He was nuts. He would have been a star in today's game with his stamina and athleticism.

That’s the most ridiculous post I’ve read this week.

For a physio, this is questionable thinking

Warm-up hurling Neale and Cameron then move on to the bigger mofos methinks

It’s crazy how the coaching team didn’t predict mcstay doing his knee in the game.

This can’t be serious post? If frampton played in place of Cameron last week we probably wouldn’t be playing this week.
