I think he's the right call - best of luck to the big guy.

At the very least he can be serviceable on all three lines - yes he's not as "reliable" as Mcstay as a forward, but as long as he can impact a contest and clunk the odd mark (which he can do) that's all we can ask for him really. He's also a better ruck than Dan so gives us some options if we want to swing a few moves around with Cox and DC, and he can also play a role at CHB if we need to change things up on a Daniher/Hipwood type.

At the end of the day he's in the team, and all we can hope for is for him to crack in and play his role, and to hear his name being read out on the podium as he goes up to collect his medal.

Judging by his history they were discussing on AFL 360 last night he has the same type of 'I don't give a &&' attitude'. Giving the bird to the opposition supporters (twice), playing pranks on his team mates, getting reported in a final for barrelling someone over. This is the exact type of mongrel we want in our forward line come GF day. Nothing meek, shy or introverted about him. Win or lose I'm confident he will hold his head up hight. Go Framp-Chise!

Yes he does. But his good rucking should not really be required although in warmer weather an extra ruck rotation might be handy. Versatility too…. If we play to the best of our abilities and avoid injuries then his versatility should not be required. He is an insurance selection. Possibly if all is going well he’s the one likely to be subbed off for Ginni when it’s time to add a ball player to the 22.

Salmon kicked 2 in each IIRC, such a champion but the others (Somerville, Simon Madden, Van Der Haar and T & A Daniher) were caught out a lot and their team mates were caught HTB a few times (even the brilliant Derek Kickett got cornered and robbed because Madden couldn't make space).

You could make a case for Adelaide Vs Richmond too.

I will say 26 degrees in Brisbane is a lot different to 26 degrees down here. But at the same time, the hotter it is up there means they are going to be straining their bodies more which isn't always what you want in the leadup to a Grand Final.

Yep. With a safely selected team in the Prelim we wouldn't have had to worry about anyone getting injured and they'd all be cherry ripe for their next game in March.
