I said Billy had a better first half to the year, not that he's better than Smith. Including more contested possessions and tackles

Billy is also 6 years younger so a higher ceiling.

But they sound like arguments for keeping him on the list, not for de-listing him.

No idea what is happening behind the scenes with him. I heard your mob talking about his dad and also that Billy doesn't take criticism well. Maybe there is more to that because right up until around RD11-12 he was playing really well.

Not like a team to delist a player 1 season in when he was best 22 prior to the injury. As I said, even if Gaff and Polec come I think he would have been handy given the state of the game. I'd like to know more but I doubt we will as Billy or North are unlikely to elaborate.

Or with all our new recruits Billy might not get a game? Reading between the lines it would seem our premiership window has not opened as such but been blown off its hinges.

But reading between the line does this mean have gotten a few definite upgrades. R there something that we can take it to the bank?

Billy and the young speedster Williams both being delisted suggests that things are afoot at Arden Street.

More is happening than we think, I highly doubt this is a rookie type error on party of the club, under the new club leader we r toO good for that. Other reason might b things have progressed that we r yet to know about....in a positive way. Reading into this we most likely have gotten at least two of hall, polec and gaff, also we r almost certainties for Kelly. Only then people like Williams and hartung r surplus because the aforementioned players will b at peak for the short to medium future.

Bit of a weird move by Nth, he doesnt cost a lot, would be better then a lot of their young players and they only gave 1 year to improve.

I thought he would have been retained on a modest contract in the hope we could get some size on him.

I can only assume that his delisting is telegraphing good news.

I hope he sticks at it and gets another crack. He has talent.

I don't think you quite understand what 'higher ceiling' means.
Just because he is only 23 and likely still has some potential for growth doesn't mean that he has a 'higher ceiling' than Isaac Smith. It means he may still have 'untapped potential', but Isaac Smith's 'ceiling' is likely far higher than Billy's even if he were to max out his potential which at this point there is no reason to believe that he will.

Surprised he got the chop, thought he was very good early in the year.

He got the arse for the exact reason I posted months and months ago.

He is petrified of any hint of physical contact.

Clarko saw it once too often and got rid of him.

How's he going to be better than Smith now?

Off field issues would be my guess.

Was fishy when Hawthorn dumped him even more so now it has happened again.

Take it with a grain of salt but rumour on our board that his old man had a verbal dust up with one of our coaches.

Isn't the rumour that he had the dust up? His dad was the trouble at the Hawks from memory, but not sure he had anything to do with it this time.
