Here's some good news to come out of the BDAFL - three of your juniors are down here in Melbourne training with VFL clubs. Josh Nesbitt training well with Bendigo Pioneers, Shane Adams on the fringes at Casey, and Braedon Jones is apparently burning up the turf with the Casey Scorpions. Braedon's mentor from his scholarship days at the Bulldogs, Brad Gotch, has just accepted the head coach's position at Casey, and asked Jones to go with him. Melbourne reported to be looking closely at him for a late draft pick (either 2009 or 2010).

You've obviously got some great talent up there, playing and umpiring wise - maybe you should get excited about promoting this, rather than dragging each other down about past issues.

BDAFL Draw for 2010 is now online on the website..
17 rounds this year or all grades,
season kicks off on the 10th of April

Just had a look at the draw, looks like they are trying to mix it up still with some night games, sunday games and anzac day game.

The break down in 1's is play 5 teams twice and the other 2 teams 3.
In 2's and 18's play everyone twice bar 1 team.

I note Tom Biviano's fund raiser (after being put in hospital by a coward act) is this sunday at Bill Elliott Oval from midday.

Tom has been a great part of the game in Newcastle with Wallsend and Cardiff.

Get down and support Tom and his family if you can.

Good luck to you Tom

Firstly good luck to Cardiff and Tom Biviano for the family Day.
Hope Tom's recovery is as speedy as possible!

Just had a trawl through the first 11 rounds of the draw on the BDAFL website and was relieved to see that there weren't that many sun games till that point.
The first round seems strange with City playing Wyong at Don Small at 6.30pm.
What happened to the GF replay in round 1?
Certainly gives more interest to the start of the season to see how the two heavy weights, recruited,/trained over the summer than seeing the reigning premiers walk over a team that is rebuilding with juniors.
But who knows Lakes might roll them!

I don't get the idea of an anzac day game!
There are alot of RAAFies and Army blokes playing in the comp so why weeken a weekend's games by making them unavailable by default.
Once again, as with night games, those at the head of the BDAFL seem to think there is merrit in these ideas because they see them in the AFL on television!
That is exactly the point! The only reason games are played on these days is because of the television audience availability after work and on pubblic holidays is so large.
C'mon BDAFL wake up!
Have one set day and starting time for all games so people know where they stand week to week!!!
Thoughts?

i agree that the bdafl are useless.

and i agree that there should be a set day and time for each game.

sh!t.... i cant find much to argue about there.

something must be wrong

although i a gree with you saying everyone should have the same starting time.. i like the idea of every team playing a night game once a year, BUT only when it is a MEGA DAY....

any early predictions from the people who just look at what people write on this forum?????
just throwing it out there??

Well said mate.
But the recent draft has shown how little interest there is in young talent in the AFL at the moment!
The best thing these young fellas can do is follow the new pathways to AFL footy either by performing well in the NRL (ooh and shagging a semi celebrity in a dunny stall) like C.HUNT.
Or go to Ireland and do well in Gaelic Footy (ooooh and then opt out to return home and string people along as to whether or not you will return for months on end) like T.KENAELLY!

THIS IS THE WAY THE AFL REWARDS YOUNG KIDS WHO HAVE GROWN UP DREAMING OF PLAYING AFL AND SUPPORTS GRASS-ROOTS AUSTRALIAN FOOTY!

Warners Bay have named their new coaches. Good see the Doggies have a sense of humor. :D

Dietzy and Hunt are the Kim Beasley and Simon Crean of the BDAFL lol :D

was supposed to go to tamworth with his missus but circumstances changed and will be staying put for now. that is enough light shed for the minute

Can anyone give me a heads up of how competitive the reserves grade is? Is it the type of thing where blokes are expected at two sessions a week or is it a bit more relaxed?

good luck to ben serafin, former coach of yass roos, got a work transfer and is going to be playing with the cardiff hawks. Top player, won best and fairest in afl canberra last year. hope he goes well their, good pickup hawks:thumbsu:

Division 4 B&F medal - lets clarify that please !!

no i think not. he sent emails to all clubs around newcastle and just wanted some help getting a place to stay, cardiff were the only ones who contacted him. maybe that is saying something !! he won a flag at yass in 2008, and was coaching again this year with a real good chance to win again. sounds like someone is jealous
