Anyone who went to the game want to say how Lammie went? rating out of 10 and justifcation for it?

Oh crap, knew someone would ask. Had a minus rating in the first half, fumbled everything that came to him and turned over almost every touch he had. Can't take 1 grab marks and 1 touch football was, well never going to happen.
I was begging them to make a new team rule, do NOT pass (handball or kick) to Wes under any cicumstances. Let him do the ruck knocks and that is all. Yes, I know I'm harsh.

Anyway, second half, whether it was because we were starting to get on top, I wasn't nearly as stressed when he went near the ball. Still don't think he did much good, apart from contest the ruck, but I'll give him a 4 out of 10 and put it down to nerves being the no. 1 ruck.

He'll be on TV this week, so we'll get to see if he can back that up.

Gee did he play that bad?

Judging from what you said are you sure he will get a game next week? Is Llane still out with suspension? Who would be Swannies third ruckman if he does get dropped for this weeks game?

I thought so, but I know I'm harsh. Hopefully Underdog, psearhead, EA or another Swans supporter was at the game and can set me straight.

Llane's out with suspension, so Wes will get another game, which actually might be a good thing for him, for his confidence and nerves. Our third ruck would probably be Dylan Harvey or Spencer or Notte.

Hi all, we were hoping to come to Perth for the Swans game this weekend against the Royals, but a mate who is a Royals fan reckons we are playing them in Karratha - in all the fixtures I have looked in it says Bassendean, can anyone tell me if our mate is having a lend and where we are actually playing? Cheers

Your mate's not having a lend One Eyed, the mighty Black Ducks are playing at Dampier, so head to Perth and keep on driving!:D

Wasn't the worst game I've seen him play...

Ultimately I didn't come away from the game cursing him so he must have been fairly non influential (in a bad way).

Big Joshy Pullman is back! Let's hope he shows some 2008 form as opposed to 2009 form. Lance Daly the omission. He didn't really look comfortable big Lance but at least he had a taste of senior footy.

Another really important win without Simmo and Spaanders today. Great job done without the usual scintillating Krak performance. Not saying he was bad but just didn't dominate all game like the past few weeks, so a good even performance.:thumbsu::thumbsu:

No Hansen, Robinson, Spaanderman, Pearce, Pratt, Colreavy, Simpson, Wolfendon, Garlett and playing a bunch of kids.

Oh, and Statham and his cronies. To think that Statham is the umpiring captain... *shudders*
Perth were missing Ross Young, Ashley Smith (for the first time), Tim Ruffles, Scott Seikerika, Mathew Moody, Chris Billings and Kade Lang and Troy Cook retired a month ago plus we debuted a 17 yr old, 2 x 18 yr olds playing their 2nd league game, an 18 yr old playing his 5th league game and 2 other 18 yr olds in their first season of league football. I could go on but just to put things in perspective.

You've just been lurking there waiting for this win haven't you r'n'b?:D

But well done and I think many Swans, or maybe it was just those of us that are overly nervous types, picked this to be a danger game. I said Sullivan would have his chance to dominate in the ruck and good on Jars for making him take that chance!

Like a footy side Swannies, you've got to take your chances when they arrive! ;)

Last time we played Hansen was the difference when probably both sides were closer to full strength. This time both sides were missing many players but our boys were determined and i guess we were due and going to knock off a top side sooner or later. Things could change though this week against Claremont but maybe the football gods are smiling upon us as it looks like Chad Jones is going to be out for a while.

What was the results v Peel today?

10 goal win in league and narrow loss to ressies.

The league game was of very poor quality. The first half in particular was very close. Dawse must have given them a bit of a bake at half time because the Swans lifted a peg - albeit, were still ordinary.

One thing that would bother me if I was a Peel fan would be a lack of discipline. On about 3 occasions they turned 30m shots on goal into goal line shots through abusing the umpire and giving away a 50m penalty. Whilst a 30m shot should be gobbled up, there is still a chance of missing and you simply need to keep those chances as a team low on the ladder. They also gave away a couple of off-the-ball free kicks.

I think the final margin flattered the Swans a bit.

Well, there's a day of football I can't get back, unfortunately. Absolutely crap game of football, lack of running, lack of support for each other, but we got the points. Daws got a bit fired up at 3/4 time so it must have been ordinary, takes a bit to fire him up.

Great game yesterday at Basso the best WAFL game ive seen in years. Swans still have Pratt, Robinson, Colreavy, Wolfenden, Hansen, Pearce to come back in plus Davis was injured early in the match as well.. Bring on the finals!:thumbsu:

Fantastic result for Swans, so yeah, no hollow feeling here Underdog! I didn't think we'd get within 3 goals but fought the game out.

I was listening on radio, because I was up in Joondalup, and it was tense!

how are the colts looking going into the finals if they make it?
which players need to play good or come back in the side to have any chance for the premiership? having matthew outridge out isnt good for there chances.

They have a number of good kids, who are not eligible to be drafted until next year, but have looked good most of the year. They haven't been able to beat Claremont or East Freo, the 2 favourites, I'd say. Got to within 3 goals, I think, but not been able to get over the top of.

No discipline, No structure.

On the first point, 2 things that really stood out to me was;
- When kicking at goal, Claremont players moved into their zone so when it went through for a behind we struggled to move the ball out of defence. On the flipside, we merely ambled to our zone positions after a behind was scored allowing the Tigers to easily run the ball out.
- During the 3rd there was some wrestling in the centre between 2 Swans and 2 Tigers which occurred for several minutes. After the umpire came in to break it up, the 2 Swans players and 1 Tiger remained stationary whilst 1 Tiger ran forward into space all by himself. He didn't get the ball but it was unacceptable.

On structure, we had no forward spine whatsoever. This could largely be attributed to our midfield being hammered and our forwards needing to push up to provide targets. The problem was, when we did get a bit of run, instead of looking to our targets and holding up the play, we bypassed them and ended up kicking to space over the back which Claremont would cover easily (Tom Roach, I'm mainly looking at you). Spaanderman forward is also a fail though I'm assuming it's because we put the cue in the rack early with Colreavy injured and Ames rested.
