and hotpie, McGough was contracted too.

........for about 200k less.

And McGough is likely to be picked up so we won't be out of pocket. If we dropped O'Bree we'd likely foot the bill for the whole year. As crap as he is, we are probably better off keeping him than dumping him, just for one more season.

I don't think he'd take Caracella with ease, despite his build Caracella is very strong overhead and can manoeuvre his opponent out of the contest better than Buckley. Maybe this comes simply from the two distinctively different roles they have played over their careers.
I've never seen Buckley beaten in a marking contest by anyone remotely resembling his height. EVER!

Brown wasn't even remotely in Buckley's league.

Caracella seems soft because he has an amazing ability to find himself alone on a fwd flank, then score. How many times has he given me the s*#@s doing that to us?

With Tarrant & Rocca taking the first 2 defenders & Josh & Cam Cloke rotating I think Carracella would find himself in space alot. Maybe more if Davidson becomes what we hope.

He would also be very good at feeding Taz & Pebbles. He is natural link man. I can see him on the Telstradome wing collecting a Clement kick in, taking 2 bounces & putting it on Taz's chest.

It sickens me, but I don't think there's a better option in the PSD. Bizzell, Corrie, Spriggs. Rupe is close, but maybe I'm just sentimental.

Carracella would get 18+ games in our side & score better than a goal/game.

What really eats at me is that we haved manufactured a better option for ourselves in the PSD.

just with that....

bit off topic i know....

but josh and cam rotating into the forwardline.... where do they stand in relation to guy richards??

do you think all 3 will be rotated through the ruck, with cam cloke being rotated into defence, and the other 2 being rotated into the forward line, or will one of them (most likely cloke id think) be pushed out of the side??

I'm certainly not underestimating Buckley. I rate him second only behind Gavin Brown as the best I've seen at Collingwood. .

Buckley was outmarked by Bannister 2 times in the last round this year , but he was playing with a broken foot and other ********ed body parts so he had little power in his body and you could tell he was disgusted but resigned about it at the same time.
Generally he's an outstanding one-on one - overhead mark and better at it than Caracella .

I'd think Richards will be No. 1 ruck, the others being part of a rotation through ruck/fwd/bench. The point is that there are enough potent talls up fwd to enable a player like Carracella to get free & do some damage.

I'm not into a debate about the rotation or Cam Cloke being dropped. I just reckon that, sadly, Carracella is the best PSD option & that I can see him fulfilling a useful role.

Fair enough?
