The invasions usually start getting hectic at the Nightmare frontier. Not sure if that would still be the case though.

Yea you would have to start a ng+ and reach vicar amelia, I don't recommend the dlc on NG+ as a first time experience it's bloody brutal.
 
Started another character on this as I never finished it, up to about level 70 and just beat the one reborn. Martyr Logarius is destroying me, so keen to get the wheel but think I'll need to level a bit more. Going with a strength/arcane build stars are 20 STR/40ARC atm, using tonitrus and kirkhammer.

Will start the DLC tonight I think.

Did the first chalice and was pretty easy, definitely keen to co-op at some stage if anyone else is still playing?

So this is out on PS Plus as of today and I really want to play it. I'm almost certain ive asked before, I know there is jump scares but how bad are they? I think I can handle say walking down a road and some big monster jumps through a door of a building or something, but what I can't handle is shit thats right in my face taking up the whole screen. You know like that creepy ass jump scare in that classic car video (just an image, no scare).

Besides the generally unsettling atmosphere and the occasional troll I don’t think there are any actual jump scares? I struggle with spooky games too :oops:

I've watched some vids, and there are certainly jump scares (the monster jumping through a door was actually an example from the game), there is also a wheelchair part that is intended to do the same thing. Those ones I could handle, just hoping there is nothing more.

Either way its currently downloading and I'll see how I go when I get the courage and time to start it I guess.

I think you’ll be fine :D. The atmosphere probably makes anything worse than what it really is. I found it trolls more than scares.

As far as jump scares go, it's basically just the sort of ones you described. It's mostly just being surprised occasionally by well hid enemies when you're going through new areas to keep you on your toes, I think as you play it more you certainly become more aware of where those guys are going to be tho.
 
It has a few jump scares but nothing too bad - if anything you are more or edge due to wanting to have quick reactions as you can literally die in a the blink of an eye.

Scariest game I've played was definitely Outlast. Had to play that with the lights on and the volume turned down. :p

Need to get around to finishing it one day. Think I'm about 60-70% there. Then again, as I haven't played in yonks, my acquired skills are probably all gone now so I might struggle big time even with the low level enemies.

Yeah I noped the **** out of Outlast pretty quickly. Think I'll try and give this a go tonight and see how I go.

If you're really having trouble with the two on the bridge just lead them down that staircase into the house and cheese em through the door, they can't get through it.

Which house? I was leading them away one at a time trying to find a good spot but they wouldn't come down the stairs near the bonfire thing. I ended up just running around the fountain but just getting frustrated having to go through all those mobs again and again for now :p
