Most of those guys have still been able to train at a prettt high capacity.

JSOS would have been running hard since July, Durdin has been spotted doing virtually everything except full contact, Cotts can still run and do most skill work; Acres and Charlie are the only two you’d want to see back in the first half of January, but that 12 week block before the season starts is plenty for those two.

☹️

CARLTON co-vice captain Sam Walsh will be sidelined for at least the next month after suffering a hamstring strain.
The injury occurred during training yesterday, with scans confirming the strain.

Walsh is expected to integrate back into the training program in the next two to three weeks.

Maybe it's just me but I find the statement a bit confusing. Says he will be sidelined for at least a month and we are in pre-season so that period doesn't include actual games which means it's referring to training. But then they follow up that by saying he is expected to integrate back into training in 2-3 weeks.

transparency is a bizarre concept at Carlton I know, but believe it or not other clubs actually tell their fans how long a player is expected to be out and this is them doing so.

Hamstrings are very minor injuries normally, as soon as he's got the strength back in it over the next 2-3 weeks he'll be back in full training shortly after (1-2 weeks).

I’m on the keep Walsh lean on a wing strong core.Use his strength running we have enough pure mid options if through the season we need him we can reassess
He's already added a considerable amount of muscle this off season. He won't be going to the wing any time soon even if some of us think it would be beneficial.

Clearly set on staying on ball or he'd have stayed lean.
