He injured his Patella in 2020. Not sure if it's the same knee.

Injury news: Newman to miss 2025 season

Nic Newman has been ruled out of the 2025 season after rupturing his patella tendon.

CARLTON defender Nic Newman has been ruled out of the 2025 season after rupturing his patella tendon.
The injury occurred during training today, with Newman sent for scans which confirmed the injury.

Newman will have surgery on his left knee in the coming week before starting his rehabilitation.

Just horrible news - been ridiculous for us especially in the last two years with back to back 2nd place finishes in the BnF. Wishing him the best in his recovery - going to be a massive massive hole to fill. We really don't get much luck do we.
