Constable is a KPP chassis with midfield fitness levels and ballfinding, coupled with being playing tall and being very quick of hands enough to compensate for a lack of speed and an ability to read where the ball should go ahead of where his opposition will.

I think you spell his name C R I P P S

:p

Because the phrase TCP used was that there was already a handshake agreement.

Implication is that it's essentially a verbal agreement and done deal...eg 'yes i will join Carlton at these contract terms'. Once you do that, you shouldn't then turn around and ask for more money. If the situation was still changing he shouldn't have made a handshake agreement.

Although i'm only assuming this is what happened based on TCP's posts.

If he was only showing interest but hadn't yet 'given us his word' so to speak in agreeing on a deal and it's terms, then of course like any player he's entitled to look around for the best offer.

Just on this, and if he came back and said can you give me more as Gold Coast are offering more and Carlton say no then how can you be upset as reported he was?

To me that part of the equation is what tells me Carlton and he agreed a figure and he tried to up it when Cogs fell through so we quite rightly told him to F off

We'll take a future poster - don't really rate anyone there at the moment ;)

Old Snake is due a new alias, we'll lock it in. Make sure you have sufficient points available.

No, I am a rational person.

Everyone is gettable. No one is Untouchable.

Using Chris Scott's latest Tim Kelly comments as a benchmark, Cripps is available for 9 first round picks.
Using Bombers nuffies' latest comments on FB over the Daniher situation, Cripps is available for 13 number 1 picks, Dusty, the Bont, Lethal, and John Coleman.

I think you're all barking mad if you think the AFL (let alone GC) is going to trade out a player with his ceiling and his leadership chops. Goes completely contrary to what they want to accomplish up there.

If he leaves, it will be because he's refused more money than a third year player has ever received in their lives merely to go to Adelaide.

... in his first season.

Has the capacity to be the best kick in the comp, and that is if he isn't already in the top 10 for it anyway. Anyway, semantics.

Luko is growing in stature with each successive post! He has elite talent but I don't recall him ever being profiled as the 'leader of men' type you're making him out to be. If those who know make the call that he's leaving next year then it's in the club's interests to look at all their options to extract the best possible return.

Nothing on Papley though?

We are going to get the priority pick we deserved last year and we are going to trade it for Papley, Caldwell, Constable, Brad Crouch, Henry Playfair and Winston Rous.

Or something like that...
