One of the clues was that the players name hadn't been brought up. So doesn't that rule Viney out? There was Viney talk on here a few weeks ago...good detective work
Nat Fyfe hair 7 inches long?I think the mystery elite mid is Nat Fyfe or Oliver
So in relation to the latest post on the no discussion thread about the 7 years and ladder thing if I'm reading correctly which is probably unlikely is it hinting that they wear the number 7 jumper? Fyfe is number 7 and that's not happening, but coincidentally so is another player already talked about and rumoured on here, Jack Viney I could be way off though

That, or we are all dead set excited and passing time till all the answers unfold. My god this board is actually amazing.
For the last couple of years we’ve had our hearts set on players who were definitely coming then crushed us in the dying moments.
This year we are actually getting the names that we are hearing and you would think people would be content but no....
Now we have a made up ‘unknown player’ who people are debating about, only to, unsurprisingly, receive no one and people will get their little hearts broken again.
Unbelievable.

Sounds close but wasn’t there a clue at some stage indicating it was an interstate player?Jack Viney. #7 Melbourne Demons. Age, : 25yr 5mth. Born, : April 13, 1994. Height, : 178cm. Weight, : 87kg. Position, : Midfield. Contracted Till, : 2020 (RFA).
Hmmmm. Hurriedly rings Ladbrokes to cancel bets on Harry C. and Lachie H.

Could be someone close to Papley told him but only Papley & manager know his true views?
Makes sense that they cultivated a friendship; vine, wine.Weren’t Viney and Wines best mates as juniors?

Viney would grow on you, perhaps. My feelings on Viney would purely depend on how much we give up for him.
I like this multiple options approach rather pinning our hopes on one big recruit. Puts some onus back on other clubs/players to be sensible about trading and not make ridiculous demands eg. Ellis. Here's all that matters - The CFC aren't in love with drafts 2019 + 2020.
Putting the right pieces in place does matter and then we can see how that goes and top-up the following year.
The other thing is that there isn't one 'single' player that SOS would be looking at with future picks.
This makes sense and the recruiting department would be shaking plenty of tress to see what may yet fall out.
We changed tack on Ellis and we can change tack again, should favoured conditions eventuate.
