has there been any indication that he is not happy at filth land?
2 +2 = ... Media reports are Pies asked Suns ‘What does it take to get Pick 1 or 2 ?’ and reply was ‘Treloar’. The problem is Pies thought about it until it was ‘quashed’ by Treloar himself.

So if he is still ‘Not happy Jan’ then that’s where the speculation comes from ...

Must admit it's gonna be fun watching Swans and * duking it out the last couple days. You have Adrian "reach for the stars even if people think you're a complete delusional flog" Dodoro, against the perennially touchy "woe is us, a non-Victorian team", stubborn and arrogant club like the Swannies.

I’d almost go pick 9, next years future 1st and, future 2nd for this years pick 2 and Martin... that is if we can’t get Papley.

Good Coast would never do that deal.

To them that undervalues both pick 2 (Noah Anderson) AND Martin.

I would do those trades myself.

No doubt, however, we are angling for something along these lines:

Papley and pick 25 for picks 9 and 43
Martin for pick 25
Betts for pick 85

I would much prefer to keep the 2020 second. I would package that up with our 2020 first for a gun mid (B Crouch, B Hill). Wishful thinking!
If we’re trading out the 2020 first AND second, there needs to be either a replacement first or second coming back.

Also, in no way does Brad Hill come to us. Freo wouldn’t do the deal for a future first and 2nd anyway, and we’re not gonna pay a winger $900k over 6 or whatever his Stk offer is.

Similarly we’re not going to pay a guy with the injury history of Brad Crouch $5M over 5 years.

As nothing happens in the first day or two of trade week and nothing happens on the Saturday and Sunday, why wouldn’t the AFL schedule the first two days, where everyone just talks, on a bloody weekend.

The simple solution is shifting the first meeting from the Monday morning to the previous Friday when Free Agency starts. Then have trade week Monday to Friday (or Thursday night).

Sounds like the greedy pricks are asking for more.

That’s ok Dave...I hope they realise that at some stage the tide will turn and we’ll have something they want.....
Looking forward to that day and holding them to ransom....player and pick trading isn’t a static environment and one day it’ll bite them right on the ass.
I’m all for fair and reasonable!!

There is the other possibility that Dodoro may be quietly crapping his pants....if Daniher goes, and they are only left with McKernan, Brown and Stewart as their remaining tall forward options, the Board would be well within their rights to ask the question about their overall list management.

AND their first pick this year is currently 31....which will slide even further after the academy, f/s's etc, so have no trade currency except if they dip into future picks again.

So it's no wonder why Dodo's asking for a quality player, because their current situation is completely ****ed...

This is where the idiot instead of carrying on for a week should have done the deal early and pursued a trade for one of the many KPFs in the Comp. something with the right currency would have presented if he chased hard enough. I hope they land Jenkins 😂😂😂

I heard when reenacments of this trade period make it to Tv Joe Daniher will be played by James Caan, and Adrian Dodoro will be played by Kathy Bates.

And the sledgehammer will be played by Stephen Dank.

That might be the case regardless of whether he stays or goes. Considering Essendon hadn’t tabled an offer to keep him beyond next year, you wonder just how much they actually value him; or at least how much faith they‘ve had in his ability to get back from injury.

I fear Casboult might be the circuit breaker, either by going to * or going to the Suns for extra picks we will need.

So be it JK.....we all need to get past the ‘we can’t trade Cas’ thing.....
Great Carlton man but only had 1 or 2 good years...I’ll be the Devil’s Advocate

I don't think so.
I for one am sick of players who still have years left on contracts expecting to be traded to their clubs of choice.
They are NOT free agents and should not expect their club to bend over backwards to get them to another club.
I hope more clubs take this stance. I would be pi**ed if Carlton let a good player go and didn't fight to keep them.
I would rather the club treat our players well and create a really good culture so they want to stay.

If one wants out - find a fair trade and let them go.

Good clubs don’t ever lose players they want to keep.

I can see the big lug outlasting Krooz, certainly more durable and can now play a number of positions

Oh yeah, he's got himself in a right royal mess.....they lose Daniher and have no quality key forwards remaining.

He then comes out publicly and states: "Our position hasn’t changed. We don’t think this draft will replace a guy of Joey’s ilk – 203cm, a gun key forward, they’re just so hard to find. As recruiters and list managers, we look at the quality of what’s coming up in the draft, and it’s about (possibly) replacing your key forward."

That's because you traded away all of your early draft picks this year for Shiel, so anyone of any quality is likely to be gone by the time your turn comes up :drunk:

I reckon you’re right, but if a longer, higher paying contract is out in front of him & he takes it - good on him. He would be one of the few players we would have no ill will towards if he went for a pay check.

Dodo doesn't seem to get how to haggle properly. Your initial asking price must be high, well above what your merch is actually worth, but you're not supposed to raise it during negotiations. That's not how it works.

I think he's trying to play the Daniher will stay at Essendon card if Sydney don't cough up.

He's doubling down and trying to put the pressure on Sydney.

To be fair to Dodoro, he can always point to his track record of building a great list capable of winning big finals...
