Mate they are already calling us the new Fremantle on the radio, the team that chases targets and fails, no matter how you twist it this is not good for the CFC, we where on a steady rise in public perception, on and off field, and this has knocked us hard. While it is far from the end of the world it is a very bad result for the footy club, and the recruiting team as a whole will have to answer to the board who will not be happy with how this has played out.
What small forwards in this years draft would be worth using pick 9 on Arrow?Well that was an anticlimax, anyway
Most of our improvement will come from within
And Martin in the PSD
Bring on 2020
Ok genius, tell me how exactly we could have got Papley without the Daniher deal being made......
Ill wait.
Exactly. Butler and Cutler would've been cheap pickups and give us some much needed speed. Even Bonar for a pick in the 50s.We look awfully slow on the field with the list. Quick teams will shred us next year but I have faith Teague can put some things in order to improve our W/L ratio to a respectable level.
Perhaps there’s a mature ager worth taking a punt on for some forward line defensive pressure and goalkicking ability.
What's stopping him from playing a decent year in 2020 and then asking for more than we want to pay him?We overpay for 1 year it's like front loading the contract, we renegotiate the next 3 for lesser money.
Seriously? It's not as though Cripps has walked out on the club.People acting like this wasn't an unmitigated disaster are having a laugh.
I must admit people cracking the sads because we didn't get rid of a top ten pick in the process of overpaying a dumpster club in GC is a little funny.
Pick 9 can still fill a need.
Yes thanks OBIf Gold Coast redraft him, he would become the highest paid player at the Gold Coast for one year, then become a restricted free agent at the end of the year. The plan would be to put $1million plus on his head, moving him out of Melbourne's reach. Draft him at #3 in the PSD then renegotiate his contract for multiple years, which would reduce the actual money paid, but the million would still count on next year's cap, where we have the space due to paying under the cap for a number of seasons. Hope that made sense.

Can you tell me who the other basket was that was available to hold our eggs? Its called putting your eggs in one basket
GCS will be the laughing stock. Re-drafting a player that clearly doesn't want to be there. Now imagine jack Martin signs with gc. What a laughing stock we will be.... again
Or Cutler to help out Crippa?I get Papley was tied to the Daniher trade but why on earth didn't we swing Butler instead.
Man, I hope whoever we draft at #9 ends up being an absolute gun. It would make this so much funnier.
We are just going to have to find someone to replace that 1.46 goals per game, those 3 tackles per game and those 14 disposals per game.
The draft gurus will surely have come alive in our draft thread now?
Decency, respect, verbal agreement, whatever you want to believe in.What's stopping him from playing a decent year in 2020 and then asking for more than we want to pay him?
from the teague train to the sos trainwreck, hard to believe we’ve stuffed this up so badly.
So many players were guaranteed to come.
We missed both Coniglio and Shiel for starters......B grade (potential A) in Papley
