Of course Poort would deny it.

But the smoke is too strong for there not to be fire, PLUS all the clues from the ITKs.

What a disaster for Port.

Lolllllll that statement. Port want to trade him now. Tactical statement to preserve his value.

$5 says issuing this statement and then calling us SOS saying "Look how much we want to keep him. We issued a STATEMENT! Future 1st and 2nd pls pls"

The story was that his management approached Carlton to facilitate a trade.

This story says Wines didn’t request a trade nor did port seek to trade him lol.

Trying to be slick.
Pretty lame statement from them ...

Marchbank to Port, Wines to Carlton.

Just putting it out there
Absolutely no way in hell Port would entertain that.

We unfortunately don't have the currency to get this deal done, especially this late in the piece. We will no doubt be planning for next year though.

Martin, Betts and Papley will be fine but wouldn't mind that extra midfielder. Why aren't we in the race for Phillips?

Hawthorn ruckman Marc Pittonet is set to join Carlton on a two-year deal.
Pittonet, who had a one-year offer on the table from the Hawks, has decided to cross to the Blues, who offered a longer-term contract. Pittonet's prospects of becoming a regular senior player would appear better at Carlton, given that he is behind veteran Matthew Kreuzer, but, at 23, more developed than promising Blues tall Tom de Koning.

Back-up ruck Andrew Phillips has been linked to Essendon during this trade period.

You forgot:

1. MM didn't like or rate Eddie.
2. MM made sure we offered unders.
3. MM wanted Daisy.

I am not convinced about the first 2 points Zeg.
It's not like Malthouse had the power to give players contracts, the board at the time lowballed Eddie, he only wanted an extra 50 K a year, and we could have also signed Daisy as well.

There is Plenty of things to blame MM for at his time at the club, just don't think Eddie leaving was one of them (least to my knowledge)

Anyhow onwards and upwards from here on in 👍👍👍
