Wines, Cripps, Setterfield, Kennedy, Ed, Stocker, not sure we can carry them all in the same side. Don’t want to become like Melbourne or the Crows, but you do fit Wines in if it’s possible. Not at the expense of an absolute need in Papley.

Coniglio really was perfect.

Hawthorn made it work but their players were ridiculously skilled where our lot probably aren’t.
Kennedy probably struggles to get games and it would most likely push JSOS out of midfield rotations and he again will have to somewhat reinvent himself.

I tell you what. For us to be in a position to even be able to consider saying "not right now, we've got other priorities" to a guy like Ollie Wines - speaks VOLUMES for how far we've come. To potentially pull off a late coup as well as getting 2 potential A graders in Martin/Papley as well as favourite son Eddie for chips (with AFC paying some of his way) is incredible.

Budget second string ruck to replace Phillips who wants a 2+ year contract and will go elsewhere to get it. If he's serviceable that's more than enough.

With any luck we'll give up less for Pittonet than we get for Phillips and we'll come out of it with a younger, marginally better back-up ruck for a late pick upgrade.
