You should have just posted an image of Marc Pittonet.
No one would have got it.

I suspect the real reason he has only played 7 matches in 5 years is that no one on the Hawks selection panel knows what he looks like in order to tell him he's playing....

I like Casboult. A lot. One of the reasons I want to keep him, aside from versatility and durability, is just the desire to "collect". We've had him 11 years; he has probably only played 2-3 of those at "AFL" level. But I am bullish on his 2020, and I wanna collect more return on our considerable investment.

But... But. HARKER's points are well made, and I think there are some non-negotiables in there. In particular, come hell or high water, we must find out whether Macreadie can play KPD at AFL level, and I am not sure his continued residence in the VFL side will teach us much.

Likewise, I want to see exposure for a (fit) DeKoning in the event of Kreuzer injury. Yes, he is raw, and he will cop some thrashings, but he will improve quickly. Look no further than the Bulldogs and Tim English - he was comically out of his depth the first 6-8 weeks of the season, but by the end of it, he was an AFL player. Would love to see a similar trajectory.

My emotional response is to keep Casboult, because I do think things like culture and fabric are important. But mostly, I am not sure what he is actually worth. Future second as straight swap? But if that was to Geelong (for example), that's basically #40 next year instead of this. Dunno.

I would suggest the only way Macreadie gets games in the AFL at Carlton is if we suffer a string of catstrophic injuries to our best 6 or 7 first choice defensive players.

Levi is a fantastic hedge on continued lack of relevance to carlton from Marchbank/Williamson/McCreadie/Goddard - and in case of injury to Jones or Weitering..
Levi is a fantastic hedge in case of injury to any of Charlie/McGovern/Harry
and unlike any of the above - Levi can hold his own as a relief ruck against any other ruckman whilst still being able to take a mark and deliver a decent field kick - unlike Kreuzer and Phillips.

Top5 in B&F says it all re Levi - he has (as stated above) developed into a more than decent AFL utility player - very rare in big bodied blokes.

Teague would be looking to get more from Marchbank/Williamson/McCreadie as well as consistent on field presence from Charlie Curnow and McGovern before considering Levi to be redundant.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Levi go to another Melbourne Club - I would be disappointed though. He has teh body type to play decent AFL football for another 3 years - easy- something that can't really be said for Kreuzer/Phillips/Marchbank as examples.

reckon you'd have to say he has been underperforming.......not like there's been a revolving door of players at the nbs.......

I am probably happy for Fraser to get one more year as Northern coach, but obviously it's finals or bust for him in 2020.

Anyone seen Marc?
I'm Marc.
Don't be ridiculous. You are not Marc.
Yes I am.
No, you're not.
Yes. I am!!!
Well, I don't really know what Marc looks like tbh, but pretty sure you're not him.
Oh ffs!!! I'm leaving.

Yeah. It is a trade period. A period designed to

A) Get clubs the players they want and get players the club they want.
B) Get the AFL and it's media partners maximum publicity over the whole period.

The last afternoon is now televised. Dodoro, who works for/with NewsCorp as much as he does EFC lol, has done Stringer during the telecast and then Shiel during the telecast. Why would Joe and all its offshoots be any different.

It's all a show. It's business, but it's a shit show too.

It's show business.

It's really not that strange at all.

You see Hawthorn understand this principle and they know where they are and what will serve them best in the medium to longer terms.
Hawthorn had no issues moving on Hodge, Mitchell, Birchall, Lewis and were happy to cut Roughead in order to allow senior development to youngsters.
This is really important but the timing has to be right forcing greater responsibilities to the younger guys.

We've now dropped in the young leaders who have had a year to get into the swing of the role and it makes for a good time to deputise other young players, should they be suitable, of course and if Walsh was our best 21 and under trainer, then give him a chair in the leadership group also. Don't worry about age.
You cant compare us to Hawks atm. We are a young building team and they are going back down the hill and so still have heaps of experience in their team. We are desperate for experienced and bigger bodies. The younger players can take on all the leadership responsibilities they can handle. They should all be leaders not just a select few. I cant see how cas would be holding any back.

For me the talk of trading Cas is crazy, he showed how important he is for us this year.

When do you ever really have all of you talls fit and firing for all 23 rounds and finals? He did it all this year, forward, back and ruck and all at a high level.

Give the man some cake, if it's two years so be it, not going to harm the list from a cap POV or holding out someone who "deserves" it more.

Dockers after menegola who used to play for them for brad hill and picks
Saints shot in foot again?

Meneglola is bog ordinary. Peter Bell is doing his best impersonation of a poor man's Adrian Dodoro..
